  • @Yellowspunk, sorry for your loss bro. Hope you get ur bike back.

Wonder why they install surveillance cameras (that too with night vision facilities ) ??!! If it cannot stop bike thefts or any crime in general, it doesnt serve its purpose. Trying asking the police about the surveillance video recorded on the day of your bike theft. Its a long shot. Considering our CCP's attitude, chance is the video may not even exist..But, its worth a try..

Just quoting Apar's post which contains the Hindu link talking abot the cameras installed in Bessie.

    • @Tarc - Surveillance cameras are installed to show the world that we've world class facilities & obtain loan from WB. May be they learn to use its facilities when some foriegner looses their belongings.

Oh!!! one more use - they can keep watching (what???) bessy from control room instead of usual rounds. Govt is going a cost cutting on fuel!!!

      • @yellowspunk, sorry for the loss dude.
For me every possible thing has been attempted on my P200- stealing petrol, peeling off decals,Carburetor . Really scared these days, as this is the 4th,5th case in this month i have come across. I am always stopped for checking by the cops and on asking he says "Saar we have got many complaints for Red Pulsars". So i hope same way they work out on your case.

        @aargee
for 'Methods to evade alarm...' is that happening? because i got that security system installed in mine a month ago. It goes beep-beep..beep-beep for 5 seconds if somebody touches or brushes and for 15 seconds if it is handled or something. Its loud and annoying, its Xenos security, got it for 900rs.,1 year warranty.
If you could recall i had posted my Carburetor theft issue in another thread and i guess you had suggested me same Xena system. I wanted a quick revert for my issue hence dint go for xena, its indeed full-proof!.

Yes, may be its good; I can't comment much because I haven't seen it or haven't seen how the circuit is being wired. But if the alarm draws the power from the motorcycle's battery, then I'm sure it can be tampered sooner or later. The thing about Xena is almost a secured system in US & I'm damn sure, here's its going to be several years before someone learns to tamper it.

Guys pls let me know if the above mentioned a* products are worth the big big money i invest in them?

Senthildsk has the same jacket. AFAIK, he's happy with the product, but you can PM him for his feedback. I wouldn't advise the gloves as they're very basic without much in-built protection. Again if you're an Astars fan, check with Senthil - he has a superb pair but pricey at abt 6K.

            • No foolproof methods boss.... As aargee had rightly said, The Locals have been quite Innovative and quite sharp towards technology. I've heard from a mech friend that all it takes to break a motorcycle lock is a simple flat metal scale and a few metal picks. Im sure the guys who did this have hours and hours of experience in hand, besides they could have also made it look quite natural.

2 or more visible locks can be a deterrent to a ripper but can also make it a awful target if he is in the mood for a challenge. I once got a chance to talk to a neighbout whose windows were trashed by thieves who apaprently got frustrated tyring to break in.

saw it . absolute visual treat, me still angry as it is doesn't feel like a typical rajini movie, feels more like a vijay film (especially for the first 2 hours) with extravagant graphics

as far as i know, disconnecting the battery is again a deterrent he has to open the bike battery compartment and all. its not a lock to break in quickly you have to slowly unscrew it. also i dont think breaking the turn indicator stops the alarm cause my friend has this alarm on his stunner which has a broken indicator.

yea its a deterrent like any other but a loud one.

Violence is not a solution to end problems my friend. Violence & rage will only bleed death. Just think about your family, your dependants & the life in jail. See you've already changed your mind

i just suggested. i'm not gonna go on a killing spree lol but i did get everything possible to him in my dreams including getting raped by dogs lol

Just that I didn't want to sound the same; but you've another option. Will discuss that during one of our G2G's

what other option? can you PM me? i'm going to some politician place on sunday morning i think.

                            Methods to evade alarm...
                            1. Remove the battery connection to disconnect the alarm
                            2. Short circuit by breaking the turn lights & then the alarm conks off
These are 2 simple trick that a common man like me knows.

as far as i know, disconnecting the battery is again a deterrent he has to open the bike battery compartment and all. its not a lock to break in quickly you have to slowly unscrew it. also i dont think breaking the turn indicator stops the alarm cause my friend has this alarm on his stunner which has a broken indicator.

Best way - get a Xena security alarm to prove your true love Costs a bomb, but the expression to watch when someone tries to steal your steed is priceless

i would definitely install it on my next bike if i ever have one. probably after 2years !

Patience my friend, have some patience. When people can wait for ration & casting vote, why not for justice? Just wait my friend. Patience pays!!! But don't overdo.

the FIR is suppose to be filed in 24hrs. its been 36hrs now. police will never do their work if not for some influence or money.

Have a copy & record of everything what they ask you to do. Set a clear expectation to the cops without saying directly - "NO BRIBE". But don't tell them directly.

they dont acknowledge that i'm standing there how do i even communicate? what record? i gave my complaint, RC book and insurance its their job to file the FIR. i'll never bribe them.

Yap, this will delay the theft to an extent

                              Hi zerotosixty,
I've the exact same jacket (Blue color) with me. They are of awesome quality & finish. But i've to say that if you have thinner arms, the elbow armour won't fit properly.

My shirt size is 42 cms & i went for L-large size jacket. It's proper fit for me. Remember it's been designed for Westerners (who are normally big built fellows).

Also i've A-star SP-X gloves (costed me 6500 bucks ..) but it's pretty sophisticated & built to last...
