Ananth, am in... But lets keep the places to minimum as I said before. Lets spend more time on pics than travelling. Too much travel and we will be tired to concentrate to take snaps! I actually thought of a different set of places - Crocodile park and Mahabalipuram, but we can stick to urs. Lets have Vandalur zoo and snake park alone da... Lets concentrate more on photography than travel/places.Originally posted by Ananth View PostPhoto Walk GTG!

What a blast the weekend was. It was awesome fun chillin out with you guys as well.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostHad a great ride and a fantastic time with the guys from Bangalore, who were a fun loving bunch. Met up with Aditya again - who incidentally has a great sense of humor -he and his friends kept us in splits all night!
The ride back was fast albeit a bit short on the miles.
Nice pics. Alok looks like he is ready to beat someone to pulp.Originally posted by rajivenky View PostAdditional Riders from Bangalore (Ninja's) : Aditya,Aweas,Alok,Regi

Ride Plan
Guys
Am planning for a ride to Kanyakumari from Chennai on 28th on my Lightning 535, the route would be as given below, this would be a 827kms stretch and complete coastal ride except for few kms...havent done this route till date. I had plans of doing solo, but it would be great if some people can join for this ride. plan to come back on 30th (3 days)
Day 1
Pondicherry
Chidambaram
Karaikal
Nagapattinam
Vedaranyam
Adiramapattinam
Kottaipattinam
Thondi
Devipattinam (Possible stay at this place) 590 kms from Chennai
Day 2
Sayalkudi
Tiruchendur
Kulasekarapattinam
Vattakottai fort
Kanyakumari (280 kms from Devipattinam)
From here if we are looking in for a highway ride back, we can take the route via Tirunelveli, Madurai, Trichy, Chennai - 710 kms, else the same route can be taken
Day 2
Kanyakumari
Tirunelveli
Ettaiyapuram (Possible stay) 156 kms from Kanyakumari
Day 3
Madurai
Trichy
Chennai - 554kms
Any suggestions / Feedback would be appreciatedNever Give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.
Cheers

my suggestion will be to skip the coastal route as the roads will be bad/worse.Originally posted by rameshmadhavan View PostGuys

take the route from chennai - trichy - madurai = tirunalvelli - kanyakumari - it should be around 750 kms and very my doable in one day if you start early. try to start at 3 and you should be able to see the sunset on the same day.
day 2 - head to kovalam beach in the morning(about 60kms) and come back before sunset.
day 3 - follow day 1 route in reverse.

Thanks Steve....I agree with you on the road conditions, dint want to do the same monotonous route and also wanted to ride through the sea breeze....return will be doing the route as mentioned which would be around 710kms...onward would be 800+kms and return would be around 700+
verymuch doable in 3 daysNever Give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.

Ramesh - Latest updates
Pondy->Cuddalore - Roads are in bad state. Potholed but drivable. Takes appx 45mins-1 hr roughly in peakhours. off-peak could take 30 mins.
Cuddalore->Chidambaram - First 10 kms upto Cuddalore is very bad. Lots of stretches with no roads. After that its good.
Beautiful bye-pass roads are built to byepass Chidambaram and Sirkazhi town. Kadaloor to Sirkazhi will take 75 mins appx to cover in peak traffic. The bye-pass roads are not properly marked yet.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
