WHY???
Plan on falling off the bike only when you're touring???

Statistically, you commute far more than you tour - so the odds are that WHEN (not IF) you take a toss, it'll probably be close to home while commuting.
ATGATT is difficult - I agree - and also can be a major nuisance but I'm kind of attached to my skin. Aren't you?

Sunny saar, If only i had the option of riding on weekends alone you wouldn't see me without proper gear. But belonging to major commuter class on two wheels i find it very difficult to wear my 4 KG jacket and the outlandish knee guards without getting scowls from by passers. Not only that makes me uncomfortable but also its quite a nuisance (as rightly pointed out by you)to store these on two wheelsOriginally posted by Sunnyside_up! View Post

.
But rest assured the safety my gear provides me is unmatchable but i just cant imagine wearing my gear to a 10 KM commute daily.
PS I may again get a few replies telling i would rather sweat not bleed but its just my view..

I am not replying here to advice you again. But just expressing my view. First of all, don't care what others think of you seeing you in full gears. Its for your safety. Don't give a darn for it.Originally posted by zerotosixty View PostSunny saar, If only i had the option of riding on weekends alone you wouldn't see me without proper gear. I don't have a jacket. But still, I make it mandatory for myself to wear my Bionics and gloves everyday to my college, which is just 12 kms away. Everybody in the college think I am a show off. But who cares?
I really can understand your situation. For it, I would rather ask you to wear your gloves, Knee guards and an elbow guard. That would be just fine and more than enough for commuting daily. Would not make you sweat or wrinkle your formals.
Mate, my friend fell from a bike which was static, and had to undergo 6 stitches in his right elbow. This is how things are. Pls be careful.
Never take chances with your luck. Ride safe.

Last but not the least, as the saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink", all of us can only say things for your benefit, cannot force you. Wear it or leave it!!!
If one doesn't have a gear, its acceptable that he doesn't have, so he doesn't wear. Aana riding gear wear pannaradhukku muhoortham paartha...I don't know what to say!!! sila peru thaana thirundhuvaanga, sila peru solli thirundhuvaanga, sila peru pattadhaan thirundhuvaanga.Last edited by aargee; 11-26-2010, 10:15 AM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Like Adarsh says, go to Kochi, BLR, Pune or Mumbai. You can't find them in Chennai, unless I order for you here.
Thanks for the tip buddy, I'm going to Kochi next week.

I have already checked with them, they do not have the model I want in stock and will take more than a month for delivery. Plus, I'm planning on going in person and get it. PRS seems a bit far away.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! View PostPerformance Racing Store - Joe Rocket distributor for India. Run by Vicky Jaisingh. Contact - 02265879696.

Wear the jacket to piss off the local romeos. I remember wearing it on a rainy day and stopping at a red light next to a "ferrari" ZMA guy, just to piss him off.
I've started using my Jacket as more of a windcheater/rain jacket. Helps keep me dry (??) and it's quite cool when you're the motorcyclist on the road when it rains like the world is at it's end...
