      • Chennai G2G meet - 27th Feb 2011

I was feeling little bad as I could not bring my bike for the ride as its rear brake was not in good shape and thought of going in car just to meet everyone and get some plan crystalline for up coming Interstate G2G. Dinesh joined me in car as his bike was having some issue with front tire. We reached Akkarai post at 7:00 am and saw Sunny, Rajiv, Ananth (comet 250) waiting already. Ravi joined us soon there on Honda CB1000.

These guys started as they want some fast wind on their faces in early morning and thus Me and Dinesh stayed back to wait for Bessy group to join.

Bessy guys joined us just around 07:30 AM and we started for Muthaliarkuppam.

Guys waiting for one our guy to refuel his bike on the way.

        Nice roads and twisties

Spotted some Cool high fliers , Dinesh tried his best

Met at the Muthaliarkuppam and started the unending discussion on route planning and time of travel.

Planned a lot of stuffs and Dinesh took few cool pics.

Started at 10 Am for breatfast after Ananth (ZMR) joined us at the boathouse. Had breakfast where we had not too many options other then Dosa - Dosa or Dosa (Sunny's input )

While returning back, got caught by traffic police for over speeding (I was at 65 Km/h approx )

Things went well and day was well spend altogether.

        • Thats a good short write-up Nishant and the photos have come out well

We had a good discussion about the Munnar Ride. Discussed about the routes and the distance, how practically we would take breaks and the time it would take cover the distance. Now its time for you all to decide on the day/time when each one prefered to start. So that we can co-ordinate the riders accordingly.

          • Thanks Dinesh

May be it will be good idea to put forward all the things discussed in meeting in structured way here. Many xbhpian who couldn't come for the meet can go through and give their feedback and then tell what they feel and how comfortable they are.

            • Munnar Ride Plan

A small brief on what we had discussion today when we met. We discussed about the route to take and how much kms one can cover up, mostly we concentrated on the upride to munnar which requires more concentration/strength to ride the ghats after the plains at the fag end of the ride. Also we would require approx 1 hour for breakfast, 1.5 hours for lunch and 6 butt breaks of 10-15min which would eat up 4 hours of our time apart from riding. We would have ~620kms to cover which again would take ~8 hrs.
Now since we have more new riders this time, we had a thought of riding a day early and stay in a midway to our destination and Ride the next morning to munnar. so we brainstromed the below options

              Onward:
              1. Leave Thursday Afternoon - Reach Trichy/Dindigul - stay overnight, Realx - Friday Morning start relaxly and reach Munnar.
              2. Leave Thursday Evening - Push to Trichy - Stay overnight, Relax - Friday Morning start relaxly and reach munnar.
              3. Start Early Friday morning - Reach Munnar late Evening.

              Return:
              1. Leave Sunday Morning - Reach Chennai in the Night.
              2. Leave Sunday Morning - Take a break in the evening at a place enroute to chennai - Next morning start and reach chennai relaxly in the late afternoon/evening.

we discussed above considerin who can take an extra half-a-day off, who could take couple of hours off and who couldnt take off. So now guys, you all got to decide how you all gonna ride based on the facts above.

Note: Guyz, have briefed what one can expect for this ride. the ride time might increase or decrease based on the other factors, so please take this as a approx time to get an idea of the ride.

                  • Nice pics Nishant. Virus bring out the rest. We had a good time & while myself & Virus was returning back we had to stop at Adyar to check some strange noise was popping out from the rear of Virus's FZ. A police man hindered us "ENNA RACE PORINGALA?? Go to home!" . Then we evacuated the place & reached home.

@All: There would be another ride coming weekend 6/3/2011. It's most likely we would be going through Trichy-Dindugal-Munnar, could we ride till Villupuram for breakfast coming weekend? Lets discuss.

                          • Spot on sunny, as what I remember, this was the exact things discussed earlier in meet. I am sure that people have very few chances of changing groups i.e. Group 1 going to Group 2 and riding solo all the way (you know what I mean here ). Happy that numbers looking good and things are taking shapes
