But on a more serious note, I must announce that 'Surguru' Zaphod is definitely the life of the party and a great guy to have along on a trip!!! He manages to wriggle his foot out of his mouth only long enough to find another innovative way to shove it right back in!! A non-stop source of entertainment!

Buddy - I admire your sense of humour and easy-going cheerfulness! And your new hand signal rocks! Definitely belongs in the Hall of Fame!!!

    • Sri/Sunny - when is the next ride or pre-ride to precise, planned? Pls don't tell me it on Mar 5/6 weekend as we're travelling out of town for inevitable circumstances.

Considering that we have only two weekends left before the Munnar ride and you don't want the second choice, I would say that the question is rhetorical.

Since I ride every weekend anyway ( and every other holiday available ) I'm game anytime - but lets see what Sri has to say.

@ the newbies registered for the Munnar G2G, specifically MotoNisar and PadmanabanK - please PM Sri or I for details.

@ all Munnar G2G participants - please use the available time to get your bikes serviced/repaired and in running condition for a 1400km round trip. Please also do a gear check to make sure that you have the proper riding gear or perhaps can borrow from those not attending.

@ Those not able to join in the ride or have spare gear, please do find it in your hearts to volunteer to lend your gear to your fellow Chennai brethren to help preserve their skins!

To kick off - I have a spare Jacket (Size 44), a pair of Cramster Knee Guards and riding gloves to lend to anyone from Chennai who would like to borrow it for the ride.

                • And for the Munnar Interstate(s) GTG.. Here's my suggestions for those who are breaking the trip to 5 days..

                  Day 1: Chennai - Vellore - Vaniyambadi - Harur - Kuppanur - Yercaud (~ 350 Kms)

                  Day 2: Yercaud - Salem - Bhavani - Avinashi - Udumalaipettai - Chinnar - Munnar (~ 300 Kms)

Day 3: In & Around Munnar

                  Day 4 : Munnar - Thekkady - Theni (or Munnar - Theni - Kodaikkanal ) - 165 Kms

                  Day 5: Kodaikkanal or Theni - Dindigul - Trichy - Chennai - 500 Kms.

                  Link to the Google Maps

** If you think Day 4 is a waste, Ride : Munnar - Thekkady - Dindigul which would reduce the burden on Day 5.

                  ---------------
This is just my suggestion - If any one else has any comments / Suggestions - Please add on & update the Google Maps link and post the same in the thread.

                  Cheers!

@ ALL Munnar G2G Riders - Before you all wonder what is going on, please allow me to throw some light on Ananth's suggestion.

It was felt by some of the riders that the 650 odd kms to Munnar on Day 1 would be too stressful and would result in a 'just riding to get there' feeling and then repeat the same on Day 3.

Hence these riders expressed the interest to add a day BEFORE to cut down the stress on actual Day 1. Again some of these riders wanted to add a day AFTER also to avoid the stress on the way back.

Please note that this is entirely upto the individual riders. The Official ride is still March 11th -13th, since some riders will not be able to get additional leave. This parallel thought process is simply a result of the long ride before us and the fact that some have the ability to avail additional leave from work/study.

Ananth's post is merely a suggestion of the route to take for the riders who are taking 5 days to get in a bit more scenery.

The actual details will be discussed on the ride this Saturday to Mudaliarkuppam, so it is sensible to be there!

Your Gloves are booked for me coz I bought a wrong size DSG gloves that is larger as it is uncomfortable for me to ride. Any takers of my DSG glove of size XL which is only one time used?

                      • @Aargee:Sure, will meet you there. FYI.. Unicorn did not trouble this time, also gave new chain sprocket kit/wheel and sprocket bearings.

@Ananth: Thanks for suggestions on the Munnar ride routes.

@Sunny: Yes, we shall discuss in detail about Ananth's suggestion during weekend ride.

                        • Sry to say that there're quite a few practical issues asking a minute of leave more than 3 days, both from office as well as from home. So if 5 days is what is planned, I'll opt to ride solo or stay back. I'm sry on this one, but this is my position.

Sri - But why post on Unicorn? You ARE bringing Rx to Munnar this time!!! No debates!!!

It was just a suggestion for those who want to break it up into a 5 day ride. I'm sure there would be plenty others who would ride forth & back on the usual dates.

So will there be two riding groups from Chennai for the ISG2G? One opting 3 days & other for 5 days ?
