    • Guys,

What is the starting point for the Mudaliyaar Kuppam ride? and at what time are we going to start?

And for the Munnar ride, i would prefer a 3 day ride rather than a 5 day ride?

      • ^^^ You must be Srini's brother isn't it? Are you riding an Yezdi to Munnar?

And for the ride, i am thinking if i should take my Yezdi or Pulsar.

          • I think it make sense for the long 5 days ride but as aargee told, extending leaves and informing same at home will be little tricky situation. I would prefer 3 days ride for sure. I have office on saturday but will try to be there for the Morning Ride !

Saar, these are 2 different things. I hope you meant the 3 days are for Munnar ISG2G on Mar 11/12/13 & the Morning ride is for the forth coming weekend to Mudalaiyar Kuppam which is on Sunday.

It was felt by some of the riders that the 650 odd kms to Munnar on Day 1 would be too stressful and would result in a 'just riding to get there' feeling and then repeat the same on Day 3.

Hence these riders expressed the interest to add a day BEFORE to cut down the stress on actual Day 1. Again some of these riders wanted to add a day AFTER also to avoid the stress on the way back.

Please note that this is entirely upto the individual riders. The Official ride is still March 11th -13th, since some riders will not be able to get additional leave. This parallel thought process is simply a result of the long ride before us and the fact that some have the ability to avail additional leave from work/study.

Ananth's post is merely a suggestion of the route to take for the riders who are taking 5 days to get in a bit more scenery.

The actual details will be discussed on the ride this Saturday to Mudaliarkuppam, so it is sensible to be there!
Sunny , its Sunday , not Saturday !!!

My apologies - typo! The Mudaliarkuppam ride is for Sunday!

@ ALL Munnar G2G riders - The choice of riding dates is entirely yours. Rooms will be booked for March 11th and 12th nights in Munnar anyway.

As I mentioned in the earlier post, some riders want to take their time and add a day or two, so it is entirely their prerogative. For all others who can't extend their dates, the original dates hold absolutely good.

So those who do not want to extend riding dates, relax! There will be enough riders to make two groups. A discussion on this will be forthcoming this Sunday.

I prefer riding with the entire Chennai group as one. I'm not comfortable with such split ups!!!

Well, if it was a universe of yourself, then we'd all be called aargee!

Thankfully it isn't and everyone does have a choice, so I guess you'll have to find a way.

Those who wish to ride on just the official dates would be free to do so, likewise, those who wish to add extra dates are also free to do so - what has your comfort got to do with it?

If some riders want to take 5 days to your 3, without inconveniencing you in any way, what troubles you?

In any case, it is an approx 650kms ride and riders will split up into different groups anyway depending on their riding speeds. So even if all riders agreed to ride on the same dates, we would still not be in one group!

Several riders including Sri and I have been debating this (even in Yelagiri) and we realised that we cannot force everyone to agree to anything. Hence a proper offline discussion would be better. Hence the meet at Mudaliarkuppam.

                        • Ok, so if everyone does have a choice, does that mean everyone rides to Munnar on their own at their will at their convenience? Then why do we want a group ride at all? Then why do we need leads to form an unanimous group? I do not deny it would be tiring to ride all 650 Kms on entire stretch & may or may not be possible on a single day, may be a little over 3 days that's all.

Since you've asked to find out a way, I think, its best that I better stay out of this, if not for me, atleast for everyone's sake. I'm not there for the Mudaliarkuppam ride either. Period. I don't want myself to be called for starting another specious argument!!!

Enjoy, have fun & ride safe guys.

Your call entirely Aargee - respecting individual choice and consideration for other viewpoints is inherent to biking, so we will respect yours, if you feel that strongly about it.

                            • @Sunny : Agreed that there may be few guys (new riders may be ) who may not be able to do 650 Km + in single day , so will there be one leader for each group ? Just asking as I don't think we can proceed to such a long ride with 2 leaders in one group and another group without a helping hand !!!

Sure Nishant, there will be POC/Leader who would guide the groups. Who is gonna be that will be decided based on the riders decision during our meet this sunday.
