  • you might not prefer to wear riding gear while riding in city cause..
    1. its freaking hot.
    2. its very uncomfortable in bumper to bumper traffic where your stuck @ every signal for 20mins.
    3. unless your into rash driving or jumping signals or other crazy nuisance stuff i dont think riding gear justifies itself or vice versa.
    4. when the average speed is 20kmph in city traffic, your more likely to break your bones.
    5. we use our bikes for daily transport for buying vegetables as well as going to office. trying to wear a riding gear everytime you touch the bike sounds impractical.
    6. a good quality riding gear costs some bucks.

i'm totally for riding gear when going on a trip and yea it looks cool but still the last point stands.
ofcourse if you have riding gear and wish to protect yourself you should go ahead and do that,
instead of thinking what other people would think.
    Regardless, Life shall go on.

        • Hello,

I hope I didn't miss alot of stuffs out here . Tour to my friends marriage and Tajmahal Dharshan was unforgettable. I have to travel with fresh wound from the bike fall and struggled big time with them. Got call from Sriram, Senthil and Steve same evening to know about the seriousness of the fall. Thanks for your concern guys .All things are done and wounds are healed. Didn't sleep more then 4 hours/day and I'm dead tired . Came back this morning and came to office straight way. I have to work both Saturday and Sunday so will not be able to attend G2G this weekend (if any).

I would say more than Office and weekend G2G, you need to take good rest without any hesitation!

                        Good for you!

Statistically at low speeds, the primary injuries suffered are impact and minor abrasions - Normally in such shunts the main points of impact in a get-off would be your hands and knees. Also remember that wearing shoes is important - even a pair of sneakers will offer some little measure of protection rather than sandals.

Well said! I agree that even this minimalist protection will be better than nothing at all.

Could you tell me why you opted for 55-250 than 18-200? I heard 18-200 is better when it comes to both scenery and indoor shoots. It combines both wide angle and decent zoom. Sorry, if my understanding is poor.
