After our Dinner meetup last weekend, We have decided to shed away our Masinagudi plans and ride out to somewhere sensible, Not so far and relatively cooler place.

There are only few options and the majority elected for Kolli Hills!

So we start on 27 May - Early morning, Reach Kolli by evening.. Pass out the next day in Kolli and ride back the third day.

So, How many are in concurrence with this? (Kolli Hills is about 400 Kilometers from Chennai)

I am okay to bring the car, no issues. But my leave sanction will remain a 50-50 chance as it completely depends on my managers mood , also on the excuse which I am going to give it to him. Give me time till 14th of this month and I will confirm if leaves are sanctioned or not .

Google unable to route to Kolli hills... Is it haunted

Nope - its just a small hill village/panchayat size place. About 75kms after Salem on the Namakkal route. We turn off the highway about 20 odd kms from Salem towards Rasipuram and from there its just village roads all the way upto the hilltop.

The good news is that the roads are awesome ( at least they were when we last visited in November ). The highlight of the ride uphill is the 72 hairpin bends!!

Sadly the ghat roads aren't great so you can't do a "Praveen" uphill , but its still a lot of fun as you need to be very alert since the roads are narrow. Thankfully, traffic is extremely light.

I think there is another route via Attur ( I don't know if I spelled it right) but I was told the Bangalore highway was the better road.
