Better places in mind... You might not like to do himalayas in 3 daysOriginally posted by Ananth View PostYes, I was thinking on those lines. But then Horsley will be HOT too!
Places i have in mind : Masinagudi / Idukki / Thekkady + Meghamalai / Wayand.
But Masinagudi & Idukki would be comparatively less crowded than Ooty or Wayanad.
We have a month to go - Lets see how things go.. For now majority are OK with Masinagudi - Do let me know if you have any better place in mind.
Anyplace is good for me as long as i am available that weekend.._________________________________________________

hey ananth
add me in as tentative pl.
and as for the place to stay.. it depends on the itinerary. i mean if we are gonna be out all day visiting places, taking pix or trekking the 3 times food provided would be pointless wouldnt it?Regardless, Life shall go on.

I don't intend to impose conditions. I will adapt to however the plans comes up. I know how difficult it is to arrange a trip. Just have in mind, the noisy crowd and make your choices. I'm totally fine with it.Originally posted by Ananth View PostPraveen, I was thinking of staying in a resort or a Off-beat location. Do you think that could help ?
Considering the off beat location, kindly ensure the Ninjas can make it. I know Sunny is around, so I won't worry about it.
I certainly have far more 'ball tolerance'.

We would not be going for sightseeing, It may be a small trek / jungle safari but definitely the idea is to go there and relax. Do keep us posted when you can confirm your participation.Originally posted by yellowspunk View Posthey ananth

Its not about imposing, I was looking for suggestions from you all.. I cant take a decision and ask 15 others to imply, and wont be goodOriginally posted by xinfii View PostI don't intend to impose conditions. I will adapt to however the plans comes up. Now, This caught me unawares! The Tiger Ranch in Bandipur has 6 Kms off-road track (As it is deep inside the Jungle) So i assume it is safe to consider other locations? Or could the ninja take it up to the mud roads for 6 kilometers ?Originally posted by xinfii View PostConsidering the off beat location, kindly ensure the Ninjas can make it. And by the way, I have also got information for another cottage in Kotagiri - Peak View Cottages - Rate should be around 500 Rs per head excluding meals but I still have not negotiated the final amount.

Its your call guys, pick what you would like the best and i could get in touch with them for stay options.Photo Gallery[/B]

Considering that this is the vacation season, I propose that the details be finalised within the next couple of days - maybe a Sunday meet like Tarc suggested would be helpful - and make a booking. Delay may result in us not getting a place to stay.

I'm given time till next friday to finalize the booking and pay a token advance (For Jungle Retreat Resort, Masinagudi) - For Tiger Ranch & Peak View i can extend for another couple of weeks.Originally posted by Sunnyside_up! Some do take the onus to discuss with other fellows and let me know the status, since i cant make it this Sunday morning!
And Sunny / Rajiv / Xinfii - Can you guys make through this terrain for 6 Kms? If not, I will look for other options.

Ok here's the deal, if the roads are like this - wet and muddy - no can do. If its dry and only 6km, then its do-able!
BTW, what the heck do we do in the "jungle retreat" ??
Xinfii and Tarc will go off exploring with their cameras, while Steve will snooze and Zaphod will try to hunt his own game/food - what will us regular mortals do?
And will the bikes be safe? Last year we had a brand new Innova smashed to pulp in Masinagudi by a couple of ho*ny elephants!
