Just had a thought, not sure how much can be done; how about riding to Sivananda Saraswathi Sevashram or anything equivalent & spending some time there on Jan 1st 2012? Say about 2-3 hours or so?

How about 2 day ride (31st and 1st Jan)? Just my thoughts, if the response is poor shall plan a single day ride on 1st Jan. Let me know your thoughts guys.

Nagalapuram is the western side of Tada.

The freshwater puddles are 40 feet deep as per the comments in CTC site!

Ananth, I have been to Nagala once with CTC, yes it is a good place for fun if you are trekking, otherwise I'm not sure if there is any offroading route there.Maybe we can ride till the first pool, have a splash, and return.

Go To Yamaha showroom[Bikers] chrompet Near m80 Bridge, You will get there and Chain lube is more than Enough, Don't waste Your money for Chain clean, You can use Diesel for cleaning

If your search is specific to Motul products, it's available in Metal & Co (GP road). Also the Motul dealer in S.P.Koil junction(out of chennai - 25 KMs from tambaram) stocks them..

Just before the MEPZ signal (when coming from Chrompet side), there is big(relatively) spare parts shop., You can easily identify the shop, they have showcased lot of engine oils.. You can get it from there...

Or if you can come down to Pudupet or GP Road you can get it easily from most of the shops over there,,,

@Aravinth - Buying Motul from the distributor is always safe and be sure of genuine product. It was known that market was fused with duplicate Castrol oil since it was popular. After that, I stopped buying oils from the shop and always went to direct distributor. We need to be cautious and make sure that the product procured is genuine and it is safe for our bikes.

Atlanta Lubricants and Specialities Pvt. Ltd is the lisenced manufacturer of Motul Oils in India, contact Louis Joseph (Area Manager- Chennai). Also they import other line of products from their parent company. Since they do not do direct business with end users like us, however, they should be of help in case of requirement.

There are few distributors of genuine Motul Oil in Chennai. Goodwill Agenicies in Royapettah (177, Avvai Shanmugam Road) is one of the Motul Authorized distributors in Chennai. Deepak Parekh is the person you might want to contact for your quieries.

Ride Report

Today, I did not have much (“any” is more apt ) pending work at office, so thought of commuting to office via Kelambakam (usually I do S.P Koil(Home) –Tambaram- Perungudi(Office)). It was a calm w/o much traffic and pleasurable commute, looking at the sky scrapers at OMR road. The view of “House of Hiranandhani” gave me a goose bump with similar feeling which I had during my first visit to Mumbai. Nice tall towers with more than enough space around them and the residents can enjoy the vision of deep Bay of Bengal from their French window. wow! “High Life Man”.

I was having a relaxed ride having those pleasurable memories of Mumbai running on my mind and all of a sudden bang!..

Who?.. COPS, yes a group of cops with speed gun targeting at me.
Oops what speed I am doing.. check check.. OMG! its 84 on the digital speedo..
Sh!t I don’t have 300 bugs in cash!!!

After stopping near the cops, I reckon those funny speed guns, once showed 62 when Sriram was doing 100+ on his Speedo.
I politely went to the Cops and asked “Yes sir” why you stopped me (as if I don’t know why I had been stopped for )
One of the Cop asked for my DL and my bike’s papers, then I started removing my gloves to open the side panels of my pulsar to get the papers out, during this time Cop was engaging in a conversation with me asking me why I am wearing the gloves is it for good grip, I politely replied him “Safety sir, we can’t expect when we might fall in this road condition” and I gave him the papers, surprisingly the cops reacted to my answer in a positive way. He politely refused my papers and said “Sir you are already concerned about safety and there is no reason why we should stop you, you can go”.

Few posts before there was a post complaining that cops are misunderstanding the purpose of safety gears, well with my experience cops encourage us wearing those gears too, if we are polite enough and make them understand its purpose.

I don't call it luck.. Even I was stopped but the cop paid respect to the fact we are concerned about safety. This kind of response from cops should be appreciated.

Yes they stop a person who looks like a alien with all those riding gears, out of curiosity(they call it safety),but shouldn't we let them know why we look so .

Yuvi - Nothing to surprise; these days cops are not as bad as what's being portrayed; I've been stopped numerous times mid of the night while I was doing those speeds & all the time they've only checked & few times they've even apologized for stopping me saying its their job to do!!!

Ananth - Same case here; I also have the CC blocked for no reason!!!
