        • Did anyone meet today? I woke up late & thought would do a quick dash to Pondy & back; but I landed up doing this...

Which is half the distance to Pondi & back; felt very energized.

Yuvi...its beautiful; may be in the entire 27 Kms stretch you can knock of 1 km, but otherwise, its such good road to ride. Though its a short loop, I hope to do it with a group someday.

                      • Was at a party last night and missed the post about the meet this morning. I did however ride on the ECR this morning and came across a bad accident after Mayajaal.

An SBK ( I think a 'busa ) rammed into a villager, killing him on the spot, and the debris from the smash brought down a Fireblade behind him. The first rider was rushed to hospital - I think he had a broken arm while the second escaped with bruises and cuts. Both were fully geared so they escaped worse injuries. I believe the pedestrian had limbs severed in the impact - gross.

When we passed the spot about 20 mins later, we couldn't make out much but received sketchy reports from other bikers. The flip side is that the police in their usual knee-jerk reaction came down heavily on bikers after that and most of the SBK's returned back to the city via alternate routes to avoid harassment. So if you're riding the ECR for the next couple of weeks, keep your eyes open for the cops!

Sad to hear; if you don't take otherwise, this is one of the reason I love to keep off from ECR for blasting speeds; but for driving/riding slow (you know with whom), there can't be a better place than this in India.

What time was it anyway? 'cause I passed somewhere around 7:30-7:45; I assume I got past Mayajaal as I came from Kelambakkam.

I saw it in the news yesterday - The other side of the story revealed (As per news) say the CBR was racing down the ECR and hit the old man on road and he died on the spot. CBR seems to be badly hit, and the rider (Arvind) has been admitted to a hospital.

Not sure if they were racing down or was it the old man who was jaywalking.

                              • OMG!!.. Feel bad for the loss of life, Cops should be extra cautious as this stretch is highly vulnerable for uncontrollable high speed morons crashing on human beings..
