We will meet at Bessy, May be ride till Bella Ciao, Tiruvanmyur - Spent Time there - Have Dinner & Return Home.

I've posted this in the helmets and riding gears thread too as I wanted as many as possible to read this.


I received very sad news two days ago - was on a ride to Kodaikanal so could not update -

A friend of mine met with an accident last week and was battling for his life in Mumbai. Unfortunately despite the best medical attention, he passed away without ever regaining consciousness. Cause of death, head-injury.

The 38 year-old leaves behind a wife and infant child. My prayers are for the family.

Now here's the lesson to be learnt - he NEVER rode to a meet without full gear - from head to toe. However on that fateful day, he was going to a place nearby his home and he decided to take his wife's scooter. The combination of proximity to his home and the fact he was riding just a scooter relaxed him to the point where he chose not to wear his helmet.

If he had chosen to wear his helmet that day as he normally did when he rode his 650r, its very likely he would be alive today and his child would have a father.

Let us learn from this tragedy - NEVER ride without a helmet, no matter how small the bike, no matter how short a distance.

The best gear in the world is no guarantee that we will survive a crash - but what we love to do is dangerous enough without the odds being stacked against us. Be smart and be responsible. We owe it to ourselves and our families.

Lets take it a point to advice as many people as possible and pledge not to ride without a basic riding gear at all times.

And Did i lend any one a White & Black - Cordura Riding Jacket? I have searched the whole house and it is missing for some time now. Could be i would have lend it to some one for a ride - If so please let me know - Thanks in advance.

hi we are planning to head to "Anbu karangal" on the 5th Feb 2012(Sunday). spend a couple of hours with the kids and ride down the ECR. let me know the ones who are willing to join us on this ride. last time we contributed a small amount (equivalent to the cubic capacity of our bikes) and got the kids and elders there Chocolates and styationary items. this time if the group is larger we can make a considerable contribution. please confirm so that we will have a fair idea on how much money we can pool in and what we can do for the kids.

Sad! my discomfort in riding without a helmet keeps me (AT)GATT. A Helmet for a pillion is also as important as the rider.

March 2012 - Time for Chennai xBhp Mega Ride

When? : March 2nd / 3rd Week 2012

Where? : Tenkasi - Kuttralam - Kodayar - Pechiparai - Manjolai - Manimutharu - Kuthiravetti (Which ever possible)

1. Who are all Game?
   
2. Any other inputs for places to ride to (apart from list)?
   
3. And What could be the maximum kms to be covered in a day - Considering it could be a Bigger group.. (For instance ; Tenkasi is about 650 Kms one way - Not all would be comfortable riding that far within a day)
