There are some places within TN worth seeing. Ananth keep flowing with the information. I'm in for this ride. I pray Lord Ram for strength and support for this trip.

Hi Ananth, Count me in for this ride. The Chennai-kanchi circuit ride was really good and the group is very comfortable and accomodative to ride along. So im eagerly for this 4 day ride to get to know you guys better.

No Sign up's for now - We need to discuss off the stay options (Some are choosy on where to stay!) / route / and Kms to cover in a day!

I am very much interested, but not very sure, how work will interfere. Can we try to make the ride happen on the 23rd of March. 23rd being a holiday, taking one day of absence from work would suffice, instead of two.

Yes, I'm in touch with kmohan / surprise / harish from BCMT - Will check with them for more details. Before that we will meet up one weekend to discuss the plan in detail and then ask them for pointers / suggestions / etc

From March 1 To 5 I don not have an exact plan .

March 1 Thursday early morning gonna start and by evening we reach ooty

Stay at ooty [ Please tell me which hotel ]

March 2 Friday we are gonna explore the ooty.

What are the places?

Again stay at the same hotel

March 3 saturday Planning to go for Black thunder

After that I don't have clue what to do

So please guide me

How about doing the famous Shengottai-Punloor route?

Tenkasi - Kuttralam - Kodayar - Pechiparai - Manjolai - Manimutharu - Kuthiravetti (Which ever possible)

Plan look nice and fun filled. I got some commitment in March which is extention of my hampi trip (hope you got what I mean ). In case nothing cooks in March, I will join the ride . Please keep me in Tentative List as of now.

Sengottai - Punaloor : I have done this route & looks good in monsoon But the main idea behind the trip is to cover places in Tamil Nadu

Order will be changed - Just gave out options in & around the place. If you have more info on the places mentioned, please add in the thread.

Dates: Tentative: 15 March - 18 March or 11 - 12 - 13 - 14 March

P.S: We may extend to day 5 (Limited to 4 hours in the morning to ride from Trichy to Chennai) - Will give more info once the plan comes along.

Suggestion:- Make use of weekend meets for such queries.

For your query :- Chn - Ooty - Suggest your group to do a short rides first. It is doable if started early and staggered breaks are disciplined.

Return from Ooty:- Ride down hill will take less time to reach Mettupalayam. From then on it is going to be couple of stretches traffic snarls due to 4 lane construction going on (as of Dec 2011). If started from Mettupalayam even 6 am, you can reach Chennai comfortably by 5 PM. Again, it all depends on speed and breaks in between.

It all boils down to the rider(s). Day 1 will give you a fair idea how the ride will turn out to be.

Also, If the group consists of new riders, Please ignore Ooty - Kundah - Karamadai route and Do Ooty - Kotagiri - Mettupalayam - Coimbatore.

ooty - Kundah - Karamadai route is a No Go for new riders - It has very very limited traffic & runs through forest (& has two forest check posts)

Sunday Morning Ride

Guys vedanthangal Ride keep on dragging, This week Sunday Morning for sure Am planned to go for it.What about others will make it as breakfast ride will be back around 11 30 Am..
