On the brighter side, even if it is not mentioned - the senior folks here, do not really take frank opinions to heart or mistake anyone. Its nice that you spoke out your view, there may be many others who may have the same question but may not come out with it, so this may actually be a good thing!Originally posted by ArriveAloneSenior Sirs those who owns Ninja's and CBR's ....
Seniors those who owns CBR and Ninja's forms a group and Zips first and Other 150-220 cc bikes forms a other group and they have to chase you ....
As you come out for more group rides, it will become apparent that the rides are more about safety (first), limits, rider capability and NEVER forget to have FUN while you're at it.
+1 on Agree & Nishant
As straightforward as your query seems, i hope you DO take the responses on the right note. It is quite honestly the story on the other side.______________________________________

If you all Seniors Rip means , this would Tempt the newbies to Cruise their Bikes at higher speeds . According to my point of view it would be even better if you guys Ride along with the Newbies .. Riding at the speeds of 90 - 120 km/hr will be great pleasure ... It will be better if you ride along with the Newbies instead of You guys Ripping fast and then taking a break ..
I thought xBhp Break fast ride means All Xbhpians will ride around 90 - 120 km/hr speed on the Highways .....
If i may have joined this ride means , i guess i would be the last person to reach pondi .. As i won't Exceed 120 km/hr speed on my R15 .. According to me Safety First for my bike and for myself ...
It really sounds sad .
Note - This is my point of view... I used to tell frankly ... I have repeated some points ...
Seniors Don't mistake me...
Buddy,
I think to first even qualify to comment on somebody's riding style, you first need to SHOW UP!
Back-seat drivers/riders who have NOT participated in rides should refrain from passing judgement on others.
That said, EVERY ride is always divided into different groups based on the riding speeds which in turn are dependent on the bikes and the rider's ability. You can hardly expect a 250r or 650r ridden by a seasoned rider to do 100kmph along with a 100cc mill ridden by a newbie. The newbie will likely kill himself trying to do 100 and the bigger, seasoned rider will probably kill himself by dozing off. As Aargee rightly pointed out, Ravi who is 58 years old is my regular riding partner but kept at CBR250 limits because he was riding to his personal limit. On our ride to Goa 3 months ago, Aditya and I took turns riding with him the entire 2400kms while the other pushed ahead. That consideration, care and camaraderie is what group riding is truly about.
What IS important is that everybody waits for everybody else, the sweep ensuring that nobody is left behind and the fun is in reaching the destination together.
That said, there were several senior riders who rode along with the main group of newbies. Sriram, Dinesh and Nishant rode with the rest of the group the entire way and your flippant comments are actually insulting to them. In my opinion you owe them an apology.
The pity is that you would actually know all this if you actually showed up for a ride instead of jawing......

What we think During our ride is how to maintain the formation , how to tag along with other guys, How to respond to the hand signals etc etc .
Group Ride it's all about team work just like soccer
and everyone matured enough to know the difference between 650's and 150's.
Thanks Bharat, Am in the process of learning when it comes to taking pictures and also post processOriginally posted by Brat View Post@Avinash - Looks like you've taken Ananth's suggestions on saturation pretty seriously, the pics are too good. I'd second Nishant's comment on being the Official motographer for Chennai xBhp!

First of all, all your comments would have valid had you come for the ride. Being a spectator and comments from a arm chair is much more fun but keep it with you.Originally posted by ArriveAloneSenior Sirs those who owns Ninja's and CBR's ....
Here everyone respects and mutually understand each other. Probably you got long way to go before you understand what the group is all about.
If you feel that the event did not go the way you desired, so be it. The Chennai group is not dependent on anyone nor there are strings attached. Like minded riders gather and do the ride. Offcourse, I never expected you to comment on the group rides nor wish such riders to be part.
This Pondy ride is just a pre-ride to a long road trip which is being discussed.
You have all the previlige to ride on your own way and nothing can stop.
Get your basics right before you want to be part of the group. As a matter of fact, we thoroughly consider every rider's safety from all angles.
FYI.. After I joined this forum, were no single incident (touchwood) till date that had put the whole group in back seat. That only shows every rider understands the speed, knows what their machine and physical capabilities. Before any group ride, the seniors give a small education on group riding skills and safe guidelines to be followed to all the first timers, infact gives them feedback too. I'm sure many would vouch my statement.
Seniors have already answered your question on the group which is split into 'Two'.
Also we do not want cry babies here and burden the group. Sorry should my comments sound bit harsh here but that's the reality.
Aargee/Sunny/Nishant:- I guess we have spent more time on educating a newbie who is yet to make a debut?RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

My not so short notes on the Pondy trip...
Ok, Lets go back to what actually happened on that day, my perspective.
It was my first ride with all the seniors. Don't know why I couldn't sleep early the night before. Got to sleep only for 3 hours before the ride. I personally feel ample rest is mandatory before any ride. So I hope its just excitement of joining the gang and nothing else cause I don't want to repeat it.
Woke up at 5. Was aware of the group's plan to collect near Sembakkam first. Somehow I timed my start such that when I came to the ECR link road, I saw the group passing me by. I happily tagged along.
The best thing about DISCIPLINED group riding is that I felt safe. Having cruised in the 90s on rtr 160 just once before, in my Bangalore trip, I felt a bit cautious on the ECR. But by the time we reached Pondy, I felt liberated
. In the end, my trust in my bike and in the group rose to such a degree that I'm raring to go on the next pre-ride (If I don't go home that is
)
Awesome clicks Avinash. Really fantastic pics
@ArriveAlone: Join us on the ride. I was also worried like you before my first trip, intimidated by the riding gears and stuff. As soon as I got into one, the feeling of safety was evident and helped my confidence. So, see you there
PS- Dinesh, please add my name in the list of attendees so that I can also feel proud of joining the brotherhood!

I was happy to see our big gang, going on the ECR...the group rides, for sure, tells other onlookers, few important things: mind your ride, mind the safety, mind the group in motion, enjoy the tour on wheels...ECR is always a great road to enjoy the nuances of ride-in-team...and our XBhp is a pioneer to create the awareness...Kudos to the G2G members for yet another successful ride.
Motorsport is fun. Safety is a mandate. Be in shape & ride long
