Hello guys - Have been using BSNL Pre-paid for sometime now. It's time to re-charge and would like to know if there is any Internet package available for users. I tried calling the so called customer care only to find it will work only when the balance is low, was like ???. BSNL website is very informative that I got Error 404 started to go through the source code to find anything for me. Is there anyone who could walk me through with information for BSNL Internet package details and go about.

For 3G plans, see below. I have no idea about 2G plans.

Best thing to do: Walk into a BSNL Office, Do the recharge over the counter. Even the normal vendors who sell Airtel / Vodafone recharge vouchers seem to be clueless with regard to BSNL offers

Cons. of BSNL 2G and 3G Data Packs: Customer have to maintain minimum balance of Rs. 50 in their prepaid account to enjoy packs, otherwise GPRS service will be temporarily suspended (till account balance reaches Rs. 50).
When packs ended/Bundled data exhausted they don’t inform and charges per kbps. Soon the Rs. 50 goes to ZERO. Than they disconnect Active connection.
For example: If you recharge your mobile with 2GB gprs pack, you have to pay Rs. 98 (To use BSNL GPRS you have to maintain Rs. 50 in your account.). In some day you enjoyed surfing and only some data remains suppose 20 MB. Another day you go online and started surfing. In some time you used all your remaining bundled Data(that is 20MB) and forgot to monitor the usages. Now they will charge at normal rate i.e.Rs 0.04/10KB (~Rs4/MB) and soon you will lose all your balance.
In this case the real cost Rs.98+ Rs50= Rs.148 for 2.025 GB (2GB bundled free usage + 12.5 MB charged @4p/10KB)

My buddy crashed this morning on the ECR when a cyclist suddenly swerved onto the road right in his path. I'm tired of attending to friends in hospital or even worse attending their funerals. In the meanwhile, look out for errant cyclists, jaywalkers, and other assorted idiots on the road.

Very sad to come across such an incident. I wish Adithya a very speedy pain-free recovery. Have seen him once during a sunday morning pondy breakfast ride. Get well soon buddy.

@Sunny and to all chennai bikers taking ECR : I dont know if this is feasible for you guys to do this, or already been doing this. One small suggestion would be to start a little early to avoid everybody. I mean them all- cyclists, jaywalkers,commuters and four-wheelers. Last one month or so, my solo rides during Sundays on the ECR are around 4.30. By which time i am atleast at uthandi toll. Though i should say there is a bit of darkness and quite a lot of bugs squashing on my gear, i will the say the rides have been wonderful. Its a whole different ECR beauty you get to experience at that time. And to see the sunlight coming up as you move along, its a whole lot different to all my previous ECR rides. And the best part is, by the time you get back home, its still around 7.30 or 8.30 max. By doing this you get back home early, miss the heat and still have the whole day to you. And most of all...YOU ARE SAFE...from morons who are still sleeping.

Okay the long awaited news for all of us. The accommodation part has been taken care of. The stay has been booked at The Spectrum Homestay, Chikmagalur.
Following are the details of the Homestay. :
It is 11kms from the town of Chikmagalur, towards Kaimara and Lingadahalli.
It is big enough to accommodate the larger gathering that is expected during ISGTG meets with ambient parking space for all the vehicles.
Easier access to the town, in case of any requirement like fuel/ATMs/Medical Help etc etc.

Cost per person for 2 days, inclusive of all meals,breakfast,snacks, tea and coffee is Rs.2200/-

Cost of t-Shirt: Rs.220/-( incase anybody wants an extra t-shirt add Rs.220/- for the total cost)

So the total cost for Stay,food and T-shirt(1nos) would be Rs.2420/-

This cost doesnt include: fuel, any additional expenses incurred /any purchase made for self.

Itenary for the meet:
Day 1(Nov 2nd) : The groups from different cities will start coming by post afternoon.
Day2(Nov 3rd) : Will have breakfast and leave for Mullayanagiri. After spending some time we will be coming back to the homestay for lunch. Post lunch we will ride down to Ayyanakere/Viewpoint/Bababudangiri (will be decided later) for photo shoot and come back to the homestay for Bon-Fire.
Day3(Nov 4Th) : The groups will start to leave as early as possible depending on the distance that has to be traveled.

P.S: The drink and Ride prohibition will be on for this ride as well. Whoever planning to consume alcohol, please leave you keys with your city lead/SPOC.

Few pointers for the ride, well in advance: No excuses of over looking the post will be accepted.
Mandatory gear: proper full face helmet/jacket/gloves. Same for both rider and pillion.
Recommended gear: knee protectors/proper raingear.
*If you dont have the necessary gear ready, please go fetch it. There is lot of time left.
*Shorts/Three-forths/sandals/chappals are a strict No-No while riding.
*Anybody failing to implement the above said points can leave on their own from the starting point. Group riding will be taken up very seriously going further.
Please get your bike in good condition before the ride, so that neither you or others will be delayed. Unforeseen circumstances can be understood, but break down due to your negligence needs to be minimized. Please pay attention to the pre-ride briefing for further details

Few *recommended* stuff to be carried, Not only for this ride but for any long ride.
1. spare Key
2.Acc and clutch cables.
3.Fuses(in case you dont have any spare fuse slots provided on the bike, more so if you have made any changes in the electrical circuit like HIDs etc)
4. A Spare headlight bulb
5. First Aid kit with all the essentials( Anybody taking a regular course of medicine for a particular ailment like against some alergies/Asthma and the likes) please keep a note of it. The nearest medical help from the place of stay is a good 15-20Kms away.
6. Pack your luggage in polythene covers before you dump it into a backpack or saddlebag.
7.As far as possible avoid having a back pack on your shoulder.Tie it to the back seat with a bungee chord.
8.Puncture repair Kit and foot pump/electric pump to be carried by one/two people in a group where you are starting from.

P.S: These are not just for this ride, its adviceable to use it on all long rides.

My buddy, Aditya Bedre crashed this morning on the ECR when a cyclist suddenly swerved onto the road right in his path. In an attempt to avoid hitting the bas@@@d, he swerved off the road crashing badly in the process and hitting a post. He broke his left collarbone but more seriously suffered a ruptured spleen, causing internal bleeding. I rushed him to Global Hospital near Shozhinganallur where he just underwent a three hour surgery to remove his spleen. Initial reports are that he will make a full if long and painful recovery. His bike front end was totalled and his riding gear though thoroughly destroyed protected him from further injury. His helmet looks like somebody played football with it on concrete but he has suffered no brain damage.Please, please, those of you reading this remember to buckle up and put on your gear. I'm tired of attending to friends in hospital or even worse attending their funerals. In the meanwhile, look out for errant cyclists, jaywalkers, and other assorted idiots on the road.

Very sorry to hear about it Sunny. Its been a horrible month. I've lost 9 friends. The past week I have been visiting hospitals and funerals. Mostly funerals or eventually funerals. And the cause? something similar. It was safer to take the road a decade back. I stopped taking the ECR a few years back because of the lunatics that use the road (toll road) especially on the weekends. This must be the biggest joke of a toll road in the whole world. Ride safe guys. you maynot value yourselves a lot, but everyone leaves a void and the pain the loved ones feel is reason enough.
