Wonderful ride with the group and with few new faces. Trip was neatly planned and well executed. Kudos to our Ananth & Kartik for the arrangement. With seasoned riders and two 'True Wanderers' in the troop(Ananth and Phanikar), it got only got better. Due Deligence -> Devising the Plan -> Clarity in places to visit -> Time Management -> Execute the plan.

The ride, the stay, tailormade cooking, offcourse the bunch of motorheads, unlimited fun guaranteed.I appreciate Gopi (Mumbai xbhp) and Venkatesh Velmani for being such a good sport and sharing thoughts and ideas. Though Gopi chocked in emotion that he could hardly say anything during the entire trip, but none would forget the extra mile he went to get the dumb bird.

Thanks to the team :- Ananth, Kartik, Rajiv, Nishant, Phanikar, Sudharshan, Pintu, Venkatesh Velmani, Gopi for making this trip incident free and success.
Thanks to Ananth and Karthik for arranging this and thanks for inviting me for the ride. I was awestruck looking at you guys talk, never had such fun g2g! All my rides so far with overnight stay were with very less people around!

Hope to ride with you guys again soon.

    Cheers!

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

                      Hey guys,

After a 'hurt free' :P accident last week, my bike's both tyres are wobbling. I am not sure whether its bent spokes or bent forks or anything else. The authorised svc (vee gee service) in adyar says they cannot fix this.

Where you can help - Could you please point to a good mechanic (with a name number if possible) in chennai who can identify and fix the problem?...I plan to go tomorrow if I can get to know of any such mechanic.

I ride apache rtr 180 with stock tyres. Would be wonderful if you know someone near Adyar.

                      Thanks!

If it is alloy wheel, little scope to repair. For fork bend, try riding on a an empty road. Leave both hands and see if the bike goes straight or takes side. I suggest you do this early morning when road is empty at about 40kmph. After knowing the results shall take the discussion forward.

                          Hey Sriram,

Thanks for your reply!. It seems it is not a fork bend then. The bike moves straight only , but yes the handle bar wobbles like crazy if I leave it unattended.

The SVC guy said there are some places which can remove the bend in an alloy wheel, but never mentiined anyone specific! ... any other ideas maybe?

                          Thanks.

Can be bent handle bars too. Also, get the cone set changed. Alloys cannot be mended to factory finish!

Its not the handle bars I believe ... sorry I should have mentioned earlier - putting the bike on the main stand and free rolling the tyres, it can be easily observed that the tyre wobbles (particularly visible at one point while rotating)

... I cant ride like this that is for sure, but I don't want to change the whole wheel as I will be selling the bike in a few months (to buy the rc390 hopefully ) ..... .... im in a fix I think!

I see no reason why you shouldn't replace the RIM in case its bend beyond repair. In any case, it did happen because of an accident and should have been claimed under insurance. In case you are planning to sell of the bike, its a good will gesture to either fix the RIM or replace it before you hand over the keys to new owner. As you are planning to keep the bike for yourself for next few months, I am sure you don't want to use it with bend RIM which might cause lot of other issues mainly Horrible handling, Loosing air pressure in tire, unable to enjoy the bike and above all, unhappy to ride the bike in this condition. Take your pick.
