Going for a trip to trichy, sastra college, thanjavur n bak via pondy during 23rd n 25th march. Will be putting up a trip log if it is successful. Ride plan is on my fb profile events so if any of you happen to stumble on it, please don't forget to give your valuable suggestions there.

Will join big trips like kutralam after covering decent miles touring.

You are right Sriram. Its difficult to confirm the head count now (I would say it goes till the riding day). But We have to confirm approx numbers on or before 1st March and go ahead with booking. As the delux rooms not available for occupation, have you thought about any alternate resort/hotel/room options ?

here is what I found -

Option 1 : I just thought we can check with Saaral resorts for Pent House type rooms. It comprises of 2 bed rooms and 1 living room. That makes it good for 4 people (can squeeze 1 extra) i.e. 5 people. Cost is 5000 bucks /night i.e. 1k /person. Looks same as delux budget to me where 2200 was getting divided among 2 .

Option 2: Got another hotel name - The Kuttalam Heritage
Checked with them for accomedating 10 people - they will give 4 bedroom cottage . We can put another 2 beds extra . total cost comes like this:
4 Bedroom cottage - Rs 6500 + tax
2 people extra - Rs 1750 (looked too much)
total - Rs 8250 /night for 10 people.
*Discount will be given upon confirming and booking

Option 3: Another resort which looked good on review - Srishty Garden Resorts
Called them up and this what they have to offer -
1 Bedroom (AC) - Rs 1200 - Suite available for Rs 1500
4 Bedrooms + 2 extra beds - Rs 4800 + Rs 800 - Total Rs 5600+tax
*Discount will be given upon confirming and booking.

On another note - I will not be travelling to bangalore on bike - My Manager is not allowing me to do for safety and security reasons on business trip.

Yes. However, thought would wait for next week to pick the alternative.

Thanks Nishant for providing the information on the resorts. I hope you would have inquired about the secured bike parking as well. Can you take it forward for the negotiation with the resort(either of them) since you already contacted them? Or let me know if you need any help.

Why's it so expensive staying to Kutralam? Can we not stay at some economical options at near by towns like Shenkottai, Kadayanallur, Thenkasi etc? Or may be even at Tirunelveli (around a hour's ride)?

Considering this as an off season, can we take a risk of finding the accommodation as we move?

I did come across this Kings Palance just before considering Saaral. From what I see there hotel is in top of the some commerical establishments. So thought bike parking area must be far from our stay.

Priority !!!

+1 to Sriram. A decent, neat and budget hotel should be fine with everyone I guess. My priority is also same i.e. secure place for bike parking. We are travelling in group of 10 with some costly assets in form of bike - can't take a chance with parking any place. I found those resorts good as we can have bike before our eyes. It will be good idea to call Kings palace and check though I don't see it any boundary at hotel so my guess is Ninja and CBR's will be rubbing shoulders with splendors and TVS 50's - also, not sure if we can take chance of searching a hotel on our way though its a off season - we are a big group at end of the days.
