Steve, You were speaking of going till Nagapatinam / Point Calimare. Can we have more info on that? Are we covering places like Mahabs / Pondy enroute to pichavaram?

Steve, You were speaking of going till Nagapatinam / Point Calimare. Can we have more info on that? Are we covering places like Mahabs / Pondy enroute to pichavaram?

lets keep the primary destination as pichavaram and if time permits let us visit these places.pondi and the fossil pak can be visited if possible and we will keep it as a last option if we have time.let us spend more time in the Tsunami hit nagapatinam district.find or own virgin beach, probably stay there.no planning let us decide on the trip.

He said - they are not allowing any one to stay at Pichavaram and they are definitely not allowing anyone to camp or anything of that sort in the place...

I'm not sure of camping alongside the virgin beach, May be we can check with the tourism office @ Chidambaram / Pichavaram. May be the locals / the boatmen would be able to give a better idea about camping along side the beach.

budget - around 800 kms (max) and calculate fuel expenses according to your bike.if there are 4 to 5 riders - consider a 200 rs charge for thew boat ride per head .food - 200 rs and accommodation 200 rs.

600 rs +fuel approx.might increase or decrease according to plans.

regarding camping- we will try to get to some place where we can camp or at least spend the evening.

Yes, Around 800 rupees. Boat ride, as per the information from blogs / triplogs cost around 200 - 250 per head for a 2 hour ride.

And regarding camping, We would start the boating around 4 PM., Come back to the shore by 6 30 or so. Spend time @ the beach and go back to the hotel room by late evening.

800rs.. or 800kms.. my bike gives an average mileage of 35-38Kmpl .. so is 1k enough
