@gopi: I would *not* recommend the Mettur route as of now. The road isn't so good, two laned and twisty. Just nail it through the Salem route man. Only 50 kms of the Thoppur-Coimbatore stretch is 2 laned and under construction, and it won't take you more than 45 min to cover that stretch.

I think if you hit Bangalore in the wee hours, post 10.30, pre 7 am time slot, then it's best just blasting through the city. The NICE road adds almost 20 kms to the distance covered, and is quite expensive as a tolled road.Originally posted by xinfii View Post

thnx praveenOriginally posted by xinfii View PostThe last time I cut through Bangalore via NICE road, it took me 2 hours to reach Hosur from the toll gate before the NICE gate beginning. Thats not bad, I would say.

I might reach bangalore around 6-7pm i guess and will be heading to my friend's place @ mysore road. So i guess the ring road will be a best option
thanks guys for your suggestions
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

I assume you will be entering bangalore from tumkur road, if that is the case you can very well take NICE road to avoid traffic on both ends ( i.e Tumkur road & Mysore Road) but if you take NICE road you will join outskirts of bangalore in the Mysore road side.Originally posted by razorBlades View Postthnx praveen

It is Important to know where in Mysore Road you want to go specifically to choose is it better to choose Ring Road option or the NICE Road option.
PS - Even the Ring road is crowded @ around 6-7pmsigpicAll India Permit 1+1
