I would advise you guys to avoid Nandi hills stretch and the international airport stretch past 11pm.

See this and the other related posts. Not very safe considering the amount of lunatics on that road right from Mekhri circle all the way upto Nandi hills.

Even the chai walla at the foot hills of Nandi (know him pretty well now ) was sayin that almost everyone rides or drives drunk and there are regular accidents on the bends.

Edit - bought a tubeless tire puncture repair kit today. Made by Sarv (Sarv Seal) and it cost me 600 bucks. Only need to pick up the Raleigh air pump on Sat from Forum Value Mall @ Whitefield, then i can start touring.

With the way things are going looks like its going to be Mandya yet again. But then, its the company and the ride that matters. The destination is only an excuse.

P.S. Any CCD's on the way to Tumkur? How are the roads enroute?

          • There's a CCD close to tumkur. but the roads are horrible till nelamangala.. worse than the kolar strech. full of construction and truck traffic. better avoid it, until the work is done.

Where did you get this from, & 600 sounds a bit too steep. I got the tubeless puncture repair kit for my bike for 150 bucks.

Anything special about this kit that is not there in the others?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

The tools are the same i guess. The puncture repair strips are made in USA.

See the link to their site :

                    1. Sarweshwari Engineers

                    2. :: Welcome to Sarv : Technlogy in the fast lane :: (item code : 440007)

Although the site mentions that the kit contains only 1 packet of 5 repair strips, I got 4 packets of 5 strips in each (20 strips in total).

Edit - Yeah i might have paid more but then thats what happens when one is in a hurry. I guess the quality of the strips are better, thats why it costs more.... and i got it with bill and discount of 100 bucks.

Yes, the tools are the same, except that I didn't get a cutter in the kit I bought.
But dood, what will you do with 20 strips!! I think they will dry out if left unused for too long. Anyu idea?
& btw, I haven't had to use my kit since i bought it over 6 months ago. Are your car's tyres tubeless type?

20 strips are a lot yes. But I can lend it to other unfortunate bikers on our rides in exchange for coffee or icecream or chocolates.

Yes, the esteem's tires are tubeless. Will be driving to Goa later this year and this might come in use although i hope otherwise.

OT: Well i'd prefer 1 litre of petrol coz i can at least travel for some distance with tht on my ride but with 1 litre of alcohol there is just one place i can travel to
