some directions needed....

dear friends...... Myself, I am praveen from kerala.....i want some suggession from thoise who might have made a ride from some salem or madurai towards blore....... I just want to visit blore and mysore on 9th, 10th, 11th and may be 12th...... My plan is that I will be starting from hme on 2pm on 9th and will be reaching madurai or some stations after madurai wher I can reach befor 9 pm.....(madurai is just 194 km away from my home) and will be starting in the morning before 7.00 am so as i cam ride enough before the day become hot........ i want to reach blore before the evening.....on the third day, (ie.11th) I want to ride towards mysore, where i will be roaming and staying on the day...... On the next day i will be leaving mysore for kozhikode and towards home......
As per the rough sheet i have prepared it s as follows

Home- madurai - 194 km
Madurai-blore- 454 km
Blore-mysore-147 km
Mysore-calicut-220 km
Calicut-home-300 km

Below re my questions........
I know madurai-salem roads condition....... What abt coimbatore-blore road? How much time may it take to reach blore from madurai, atleast from salem?

(hpe those who have participated in tri state meetup can tell that simply and dr.subbu like people can help me in maduri kovai strech too)

What abt the roads between blore and mysore? How much time it may take? And if anyone can give some leads abt stays in mysore will also be helpful..........

If it is Friday night, I would like to get back home before dawn to get a few hours of sleep.

and if the destination is towards Krishnagiri , I suggest Saturday morning instead of Friday night. Too much of truck traffic in the night.

Coimbatore to Bangalore : about 30-40 km from Coimbatore that way have only 2 lanes so be careful becoz so many cars and trucks want to overtake u on this way ( left and right lanes) after this way u will have 4 lanes for safe that way is good... ( from coimbatore to Bangalore : 320 kms 4-5 hours with 3-4 pit stop ) - ride in the morning or afternoon it will be better evening or night.
From Bangalore to Mysore ( 160 kms ) will take only 3 hours from u, so that way is good. ( have 1 or 2 inspecter cop near Bangalore. )

Friday night it is then. I'd love to ride on saturday morning but have some personal commitments. I know Maddur CCD is the default choice of destination but any other place in mind?

Anyway as of now, Ark and me are riding on Fri night. We are brainstorming () on the destination so nothing fixed yet.

Sunday morning I am riding to Krishnagiri and on the GQ that leads to Chennai. Not sure how far i'll be riding but will turn back after my odo reads a lil over 150kms. Those who are joining in and have expressed interest in a sunday ride, please confirm your attendance.

Great. I plan to leave on Sunday morning at around 5am.

Event : Ride to Krishnagiri and a little beyond on the GQ that leads to Chennai.

Date : 4th July 2010.

Meeting time : 05:00 am

Meeting Place : Wipro Madivala (next to Madivala police station, near Total Mall).

Confirmed riders :

We will leave by 5.30 am sharp. Anyone else who wants to join please ensure you reach the meeting place no later than 5.00 am. After the safety briefing, we will leave (approx. 5.20am) for Krishnagiri.

Riding jackets / thick leather jacket, thick trousers / jeans and the likes, helmet, vehicle documents, drivers license, etc. is mandatory (helmet is mandatory for the pillion rider if any). Knee guards etc. are recommended.

Tip : If you want to save a lil money, ensure you have just enough fuel to last 100 kms. We can tank up at Krishnagiri where the prices are 2-3 rupees cheaper per liter of petrol.

Anyone else joining us, please copy the entire text from the Event details onwards till the mandatory information, include your name in the confirmed riders list and then submit.

No problem. Please wear a thick jacket that offers max protection.
