I'd love to meet up with you Sir. Read a lot of your posts here and on Team Bhp and learnt a lot as well. And the booze part is only a joke.

what time are you planning to rendezvous for dinner and where?

Hey guys one out of the topic question:
Is it anything wrong if I dont cut the extra part of the cold melded rubber after the repair? Is it anything harmful for the tyre??

Dunno if its right or wrong to leave the bit of the puncture strip exposed. The instructions say it has to be cut as close to the tire as possible after the repair is done.

Secondly: we all can have a potluck party/ jam session in my flat on Friday or Saturday.. How about that?

@ Aditya : I stay is a village called electronic city... from your house it will be a loong ride to my place.. nd i guess it ll be the same for rest of the guys...;-) .. it will be both, ride nd jamming..

I dont think there is a huge amount of rush towards & from Krishnagiri at 12:30 a.m onwards. I have done a couple of friday night rides to Krishnagiri at that time.

Now you say this and add to the confusion.

Looks like I will join in for this one if it is not too long a distance. Don't wanna ride on Mysore Road at insane hours.
Approximately what time would we be leaving from here?

We plan to leave by 9.30pm earliest on Friday night. Do let is know if you are in.

2. Ride to Krishnagiri - we'll have to leave only by midnight to avoid traffic. Any CCD's enroute to K'giri?

I do remember a CCD enroute to krishnagiri where i stopped for a break while riding from coimbatore-bangalore... not sure if it is 24 hrs but it was open at 8 am... so im guessing its 24hrs.. if someone else knows bout this pls confirm...

Would be nice to have a dinner meet... but i guess we can plan that out for the people interested after we decide on the ride... and aditya, we will find a place to keep a watch on our bikes while we eat

yeah .. i guess its risky to go without checking.. but it is the highway.. im quite sure there will definitely be some dhaba that would be open for truckers and bus drivers ....

Of course there's a CCD enroute to Krishnagiri and I guess it's 24hrs, coz I had been there on the way back from Chennai, on a night ride at 1 AM.The roads are wide enough for the trucks and buses to not pose a problem and the roads are excellently paved, so no trouble at all.

Date - 25 Jun 2010 (Friday)

Confirmed riders :

Rendezvous at Wipro Madivala (like last Friday) before we head to Mandya. Meeting time will be posted by tomorrow afternoon.

EDIT : Please ensure you wear appropriate riding gear for your safety.

1. Helmets - Mandatory.

2. Riding jacket - Mandatory - At least a thick jacket is a must if one does not have a riding jacket with armor.

3. Shoes - Mandatory and should cover the feet completely. Ensure the laces are tucked inside the shoe so it does not get entangled with the gearshift lever or the rear brake lever. (it's happened to me once earlier and it was nasty).

4. Full Length pants - Mandatory - jeans or cargo's or any pants made from thick durable material.

5. Knee guards - recommended.

Please also carry your vehicle documents and other necessary papers like insurance, Emission control certificate, Drivers license (mandatory) etc.

Thanks for the tip Praful. Each time we spend around 15 mins on riding etiquette and rules so its safe and fun for all.

Here's some more information on the buses if you guys are going to Krishnagiri on friday night
* The buses to Kerala start at 7.30 and the last one leaves Madiwala at 9:30
* The buses to Madras / other places in TN leave from KPN travels (next to the Shell pump) between 10 and 11:45
There are more buses than usual on friday nights. The slower non-AC buses leave earlier from Madiwala / KPN. If you guys are leaving after 10 give way to the buses as the AC ones drive pretty fast and overtake everything else on the road. Have a safe ride.

Anyway, Arjun and myself are riding out on Mysore Road on Friday night. You guys are welcome to join us, if you aren't riding out elsewhere.
