A big Hello to my fellow bikers @Bangalore

I am doing a ride to Munnar during the last week of December and wanted to check if anyone could share their experience/route taken, etc.

My initial schedule is a night ride from Pune to Mangalore on 21st and I would be staying for 3days in Mangalore post which i will continue onwards.
I am extreamly skeptical of NH17 as i have received a lot of negative feedback on the route from mangalore on NH17.

Also if anyone is interested to join me please PM me with your details

Exo (Alok), Merlion (Awais), Ark (Reggie) and myself rode down to Ambur on saturday and met the chennai guys. We then went to the planned destination (Yelagiri Hills) where we just spent the rest of the day chatting about bikes and everything else.

It was great fun and the ride back was lovely. Light traffic meant triple digit speeds all through the ride (almost )

I recently went on a cage-trip from bangalore to cochin... let me tell u the road conditions are deporable from palakkad onwards.. NH47 is in a bad shape post rains... This should not make you cancel your ride, but do ride at sane speeds, because out of the blue, the holes appear on the road... So limit your speed once u enter Kerala...

Bro... Haroon from B'lore came down that way last week. Madmax from Hyd came down that way 2-3 weeks back. AS per both of them, riding in NH17 is a tedious job... Narrow, two laned highway with lot of traffic is what NH17 is. If you can bypass Mangalore, take B'lore, Salem, Coimbatore route. That way you have to deal with only NH47 from Palakkad. And like ajaymanohar said, you have to take it slow once you hit Kerala - if you want to return back in one piece (both you and the bike).

BTW... we Kerala xbhpians are conducting a New Year G2G at Munnar on Jan 8,9. So if you can change your plans accordingly, we'd love to have you as our special guest...

@lijok: I am flatered with your offer..however I am forced to decline as I had already planned my leaves. When you work for someone other than yourself, the ability/flexibility of getting off work becomes near to impossible. I had to plan my leaves three months in advance and even now I am still fighting for it. I am sure you understand
BTW: I should be in Munnar by the 28th/29th..would be happy to meet up with you guys if its possible..
