^^+1 One of the most scenic places I have ever rode till date and would recommend it to any biker who wishes to ride to Mangalore or Sringeri. There is also a waterfall in the middle of the national part which is just amazing and makes it more specialOriginally posted by Praful View Post@Harshit: Take the Neelamangala-Hassan-Sakleshpur-Mangalore route.
Or if you have time in hand are feeling a bit adventurous, from Hassan head up north to Belur-Mudigere-Kottigehara-Kalasa-Karkala-Moodabidri-Mangalore to ride through the AWESOME Kudremukh reserve! But ensure you are in Mangalore in daylight.
Weather now shouldn't be a issue. Its going to be Cool in Mangalore but all through the day its going to sunny and humid ... No rains this time the year...Originally posted by harshit.d View PostHey Makky and Roshan thanks for the inputs.
I guess there is a route from Mysore road as well for Mangalore (I never knew of that).
This is what I am planning to take.
I stay near Bommanhalli. So i'm planning to hit the NICE road from PESSE college and ride to NH4 and from there its all the way NH4...
This route would be a bit longer due to NICE stretch but the reason i'm keen on this one is that i know this route and more over it being a clean route can be covered at good pace.
Map
Inputs on this??
And another thing I want to know is about the weather over there. Scope of rains?
I see your planned route takes abt 370+kms , whereas the one through Mysore-Madikeri-Mangalore should be close to abt < 400 kms... The one through Kudremukh not so sure but is worth every km you ride on those twisties ....
Have fun , ride safetour-master on exile

Bangalore stopover
Hey guys,
I am attending California Superbike School at the end of this month and will be riding down to Chennai from Pune on the 26th. I plan on halting in Bangalore for a night on my way and am looking for cheap accommodation close to the highway. Do you any suggestions?Watch my Baby R1 clock 148kmph at http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=cAHbYl...e=channel_page.

Sagar, try Hotel Yashoda in Hosur. I recommend you stay in Hosur because you'd be away from Bangalore, and you'd be that much closer to MMSC the next day.Originally posted by SAGARR_46 View PostHey guys,

Yeah, it's on the highway near Hosur Bus Stand. Ask around once you get into Hosur, it's anyway pretty easy to find.Originally posted by SAGARR_46 View PostThanks man. Is it located on the highway?

Thanks, I just got back today. Since I was very much undecided on where to go, I decided when I was on NH4 to go to Ganpatiphule directly from Bangalore.Originally posted by Praful View PostOh, you're heading to the Malvan region! Tarkarli and Ganpati Pule both? They are a bit apart.
I suggest you the NH4 till Bankapur, then join NH63 at Yellapur and then finally head up NH17 till where you need to go. Ah NH17, its one of my fav highways with or without the potholes!
My route ended up being Bangalore-Kolhapur-Panhala-Pali-Ganpatiphule-Goa (Colva, Agoda and Paloleum) - Karwar-Danderi (Kali river basin)-Dharwad-Hubli-Bangalore. I dropped Tarkarli because I found a few of my good friend were holed up in Colva so I headed up there and became a freeloader!
Great fun - trip log coming up!
