I heard you get nice chocolates in Goa too - headed there this weekend! Leave tomorrow morning. I am still not sure where to head the first night. I might go to Tarkarli directly from bangalore and ride my way down.
Camera -packed. GoPro-recharged. extra undies - folded and stuffed. Tank-Full.

Madikeri-sullia route to MLR
Madikeri -Sullia route not closed for 2-wheelers ,though lot of road works in progress (widening, relaying etc ) ,~25 kms of bad rds .Originally posted by roshan3440 View PostHey nice plan.. which route are you planning to take because the Madikeri -Sulia route is closed due to road rework. So now the route is a detour from madikeri which I dont have much idea about. So the next best alternative is through the Shiradi Ghat which after Sakleshpur has about 30-40 kms of horrible road. So need to take a call. Rest of the stretch on the Sakleshpur route manageable.
Take a call on which route you wanna take... Both have its plus and minus.
One more route is through Sringeri which I havent gone but would like to do that stretch . I have done Sringeri and back to Mysore through the Kudremukh route which is Heavenly to be honest. Enquire regrading all routes possible and choose the bestYamaha RX 135 5 Speed - 2000 -(current)
Yamaha R15 v1 - 2009 - 2016 ( Sold )
Yamaha R3 - 2015 - (current)

Honestly, I have not decided what route yet. One part of me tells me to go to ganpatiphule directly and then work my way down, and another part of my brain suggests I go to tarkarli first and then ride down south. And a weird part of me says to go to kanyakumari and then ride northwards.Originally posted by Praful View PostGoa! *sigh* I wanna go too!

I hope I have it sorted it by the time I get on the bike in a few hours.

Or if you have time in hand are feeling a bit adventurous, from Hassan head up north to Belur-Mudigere-Kottigehara-Kalasa-Karkala-Moodabidri-Mangalore to ride through the AWESOME Kudremukh reserve! But ensure you are in Mangalore in daylight. In any case i'll be starting early morning around 6 so not much traffic.Originally posted by Makky View PostThe NICE road(PESSE)-NH4 route via Kengeri is a much better one than Bommanahalli-Banashankari-Mysore road-Blr Uni-Chandra layout-NH4 and Bannerghatta road-Uttarahalli-Kengeri-NH4.
PS: You can take the Magadi road if you want to escape from Bengaluru Metro and the jam-packed Nelamangala. You would join NH48 a km or two before Mallya's stud farm at Kunigal.
I was planning to take the NICE road from EC entrance... There is a PESSE college there as well. With that I land at Tumkur road directly.
Are you talking about the same expressway that we rode on while going to that Tumkur CCD?Originally posted by rossiter View PostNelamangala is not jam packed anymore, now that the road-widening and the expressway are done with. It's a smooth and easy ride past all the previous bottlenecks.
Belur-Kalasa-Mangalore is a superb route, but are the roads in good condition?

So guys all in all which one would be a better route?
I had planned for taking the NICE road from PESSE College (Near EC entrance) --> Nice Road --> Ride for some good 30-40km and take an exit on Tumkur Road --> then its NH48 via Neelamangala, Hassan, Sakleshpur --> Mangalore.
My Current Route
Does this route makes sense?

Oh, you're heading to the Malvan region! Tarkarli and Ganpati Pule both? They are a bit apart.Originally posted by bluevolt View PostHonestly, I have not decided what route yet. I suggest you the NH4 till Bankapur, then join NH63 at Yellapur and then finally head up NH17 till where you need to go. Ah NH17, its one of my fav highways with or without the potholes!
Yep it makes complete sense. Have fun!Originally posted by harshit.d
