Wasnt able to make it for the pre-ride as I have been travelling quite a bit. Not sure if the details are posted in another thread but just wanted to check a couple of thingsOriginally posted by phanikar View PostFor those of you who have paid for tee, please get a bag or something to take it home. 1. For those who couldnt make it to the pre-ride, will the t-shirts be given at the beginning of the tri-state ride / distributed later?
2. Not sure about the messages / PM that you mentioned. I just checked again and I havent received any sms / email / PM in the last few days. I think the last email I got was the confirmation of my payment transaction. Could you check if I was on the contact list?

Ride details for the ISGTG, Chikmagalur ride:
Meeting point: Shell Fuel Station, Yeshwanthpur(behind Metro Cash and carry)
Meeting time : 6AM(please dont be late). Anybody coming late due to unforeseen circumstances, can join us directly at the breakfast point. Details below.
Total riding Distance: 260kms(appx)
From the first post:
Few pointers for the ride, well in advance: No excuses of over looking the post will be accepted.
Mandatory gear: proper full face helmet/jacket/gloves. Same for both rider and pillion.
Recommended gear: knee protectors/proper raingear.
Vehicle Documents and Dl will be checked before the start of the ride.
*If you dont have the necessary gear ready, please go fetch it. There is still time left.
*Shorts/Three-forths/sandals/chappals are a strict No-No while riding.
*Anybody failing to implement the above said points can leave on their own from the starting point. Group riding will be taken up very seriously going further.
Please get your bike in good condition before the ride, so that neither you or others will be delayed. Unforeseen circumstances can be understood, but break down due to your negligence needs to be minimized. Please pay attention to the pre-ride briefing for further details
Few *recommended* stuff to be carried, Not only for this ride but for any long ride.
1. spare Key
2.Acc and clutch cables.
3.Fuses(in case you dont have any spare fuse slots provided on the bike, more so if you have made any changes in the electrical circuit like HIDs etc)
4. A Spare headlight bulb
5. First Aid kit with all the essentials( Anybody taking a regular course of medicine for a particular ailment like against some alergies/Asthma and the likes) please keep a note of it. The nearest medical help from the place of stay is a good 15-20Kms away.
6. Pack your luggage in polythene covers before you dump it into a backpack or saddlebag.
7.As far as possible avoid having a back pack on your shoulder.Tie it to the back seat with a bungee chord.
8.Puncture repair Kit and foot pump/electric pump to be carried by one/two people in a group where you are starting from.
9.Keep yourself hydrated all through the ride.
Route Plan: Unknown road to State Highway 57 - Google Maps
Have a look at the map and relate to these points:
A. Meeting Point.
Proceed on NH4 till you find a gap where you can deviate from the highway and get to the service road. There is a big Hanuman Statue on your left, Just which you can deviate. Also you can have the toll booth(for vehicles coming from Tumkur/Nelamangala) as a landmark to deviate.
B.Take left at Nelamangala junction. Its traffic free 4 lanes for the next 100kms from here. So you can regroup after you take left and do good speeds to save time.
C.Regrouping point, also for breakfast. There is a Mayura restraunt, with abundant parking. Service is quick. 2nd flyover(IIRC) after Yediyur there is a deviation to get to the service road
D.Four lanes give way to two. Need to be careful from here specially for any newbies riding. There are a lot of deviations from here.
E.Do not deviate from the highway. As you reach Channarayapatna, the highway passes through the heart of the town, so, expect some traffic. There are good number of signboards to direct you.
F.There is a police station on your left at the junction. Take left from here. A temple with a big Ganesha(IIRC)statue can be used for confirmation of the right route.
G.Traffic gets a bit higher till this stretch. Be careful about taking the left for Hassan. A right on the Y fork will take you to Arasikere, which will be a round about and there are minimal signboards to get u back.
H. At this point a sign board reads take left for Chikmagalur-60Kms, DO NOT TAKE RIGHT. Proceed on the highway
I. This can be used as a landmark. Rajeev Institute of technology comes to your left and it cannot be missed. This being a two lane, you can park the bikes on the road which leads to the college in case of re-grouping.
J.Take right after you pass Reliance petrol bunk on the right side. this stretch is broken till you meet the Belur road. There will be a bit of traffic(as it passes through APMC Market area) and high chances of the group getting separated.
K.Take left at the first signal light road. and proceed till you find a Y fork ,which would have the boards for Mangalore/Sakleshpur on one side and Belur/Chikmagalur on the right.
L.Take the right(Belur/Chikmagalur route). You have good roads from here. Stay away from those flying innovas :P At few curves there are dividers which can go unnoticed as its camouflaged with weeds growing all around them.
M. This is the entrance to Yagachi Dam site. It has good amount of parking space which can be used for a butt break/re grouping. The roads ahead are broken. So it would be better if the speeds are low.
N. IOC petrol bunk on your left. It would be better if you guys can fill fuel for a safe limit of 200Kms, because once you are the Homestay, very minimal options for good fuel.
O. It is the first junction you encounter once you enter Chikmagalur. Its a one-way and cant turn right. there would be a small road going to your left(rather straight if you are coming from Belur) take that road. It has a christian school on the left.
P. Take right at the immediate next junction. This road will be a bit crowded. It passes through the Town bus stand. Proceed on the same road till you reach a junction which has a theater which is poorly lit on the left. From here you need to go straight. There was some sanitation work going on some time back and hopefull it should be done by now and the road is open. If this is closed. take right from the theater junction and take the first left. It will rejoin the quoted road at Point Q.
Q. Take left/straight(depending on which road you take). You will find good amount of road signs printed in English, which is visible in the dark as well.
R. Its one single road till kaimara Junction. Do not take right at this junction but proceed straight. First you would find a small village By name Dasarahalli(dont remember if they had that in English also) .Even if it didn't proceed on the same road. Roughly about 2.5 Kms(from Kaimara Junction) you will find the board of Spectrum Homestay on the left side on a tree. Do not take that right. Proceed abut 750mtrs and you find Spectrum Board on your right side.
S. There is a Blue color Water tank on the right side. take a right turn here. As soon as you enter you will find a Temple on your left. Proceed about 200-300mtrs from here , you will find the home stay entrance.
