Regarding the change of reg no, there are quite a lot of agents in all the RTO offices, all you've gotta do is shell money and you'll get your job done... In all i'd spend about 6,000 to get a KA number (It was AP regn)... The Road Tax depends on the current market value of your bike, my case it was around 2,500... Had to spend around 1,000 get KA RC book and around 850 for the number... The actual cost is way too less, but due to middlemen / brokers, it adds upto the cost. Since the corruption is there till the highest level, and everyone have their share, the actual cost : bribe is in the ratio of almost 1:2 (Except for Road Tax & 1:3 in some cases)... On the other hand, if you don't wanna spend this much, be prepared to shell out Rs. 100/- whenever you get caught ... In my almost 5 years of driving in Bangalore, i was caught only on 3 occasions... Since all my docs were clean, they couldn't penalize me at any point in time

How about having the G2G as planned on 22nd and in the meanwhile we can even come up with Ver 0.1 for April 10th G2G ??? Man its been long long time since i did a long drive and am more than waiting to have my first G2G with xBhpians... Guyz, plz wake up !!!

Hello everyone, I have just moved down to Blore from Pune. From being a active member there i am looking forward to being a regular around here. Too bad i will be getting my bike down only in the first week of Apr.

Do include me in your plans for a G2G or speedcheck or trackday or whichever!!

Paying the road tax is the easier way. Its next to impossible to do it on your own so you HAVE to get it done through an agent.

If you wanna change the reg. no then procure a NOC from the RTO in Pune(or gazetted officer?) and get it changed within a month! Some say its 15 days, some say 45 days, you get different things from different people.

If you are here short term, all you need to do is pay the Karnataka road tax and good to go anywhere.

If you intend on settling down here and would eventually sell your bike here, then you need a NOC from Pune RTO and you will have to pay road tax and get it re-registered here.

Seeing what you, praful and samyaza have to say, will just pay the road tax and roam around. Already applied for the NOC, so just 1 more hurdle and i should be good to go.

Guys on less powerful bikes or sedate riders shouldn't be apprehensive about riding in a group. We look out for each other on such G2Gs so there is nothing to worry about.

Same here , i also registered for the sms channel and got a sms about trip to Savanadurga dated 7th Dec 2008 .

Regarding the place, the discussion is going on, tentatively on 22nd March to Yercaud (Tentative)...

In my opinion, Yercaud is a little too far off for a single day ride. I had been there last year for the interstate xBHP meet and it was an overnight stay.

I am looking at something around 250-300kms which should be rideable in a day; leave early in the morning and be back before sundown.
