TVS has been granted the patent for the Auto Hybrid Transmission System for two-wheelers, in which they have brought together the CVTM and FSTM systems.
The transmission mechanisms in automobiles operates to produce optimal output of rotation and speed during acceleration. There are two types of transmission mechanisms, CVTM (Continuously Variable Transmission Mechanism) and FSTM (Fixed Speed Transmission Mechanism). Both the systems have different output ratio in terms of speed and constant rotation in various transmission levels and accelerations. TVS has documented the patent where the combination of both CVTM and FSTM provides better output on overall operational speed & rotation in all acceleration levels.
CVTM uses belts which slips frequently, resulting in low speed and acceleration of the rotation, and at the same time FSTM provides one or more transmission rotation but the achievable ratio is inadequate. Compare to CVMT, FSTM gives a better rotating acceleration at low speed but at high and constant speed it doesn’t help in getting good transmission ratio and thus TVS has invented a new Transmission system which combines both CVTM and FSTM and named it as AHT (Auto Hybrid Transmission) which can produce optimum acceleration ratio in all the speeds from low to high rotations.
