Foxtrot Seven Seven Mach Two Recon is a GO!

October 29th, 2025 xBhp Features, News comments

The xBhp Garage has (and has been) home to some of the most exhilarating motorcycles around. We have had the Ninja H2 as our flagship for a long time. A Kawasaki ZX-10R and a Triumph Rocket 3 R are also our crown jewels.

We also have the TVS Apache RR 310, one of the best motorcycles by an Indian manufacturer and an Aprilia RS 457, just about the best entry-level performance motorcycle manufactured in India. Not too long ago, we inducted another.

Again, one of the best motorcycles by an Indian manufacturer… now being sold around the world. So we’d like you to join us in welcoming the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 Recon to the xBhp Garage.

We have ridden the F77 Mach 2 on many occasions. We rode it during the launch event, and then we got it here in Delhi for a very interesting project. It left us mighty impressed, and after little deliberation, the decision was made to have it as a part of the xBhp Garage.

As always, we decided to share the happiness with the xBhp Community. So, we had a little get-together of around 25 riders who joined us as we took the delivery of this very special motorcycle from the UV Delhi Showroom. Along with some snacks and an exchange of motorcycling stories, we also carried out our ritual burnout.

For the most part, they have always been done on an ICE motorcycle, but to our surprise (not really), it felt just as good as any. UV Delhi was also kind enough to let a few fellow riders have a spin on the F77 Mach 2. That concluded the delivery of nour inductee in the xBhp Garage.

The new leather suit from Axor, along with the Brutale Helmet (which has two spoilers, by the way!), is the perfect match for a sporty motorcycle such as the F77 Mach 2 Recon. As with all their products, you get style, comfort, and safety in one neat package!

A lot of people might wonder why we old-schoolers, who have revered ICE motorcycles for as long as we can remember, got an electric motorcycle added to a fleet that has some of the most aspirational motorcycles available today. Well, this is just the state of affairs at the moment. A lot of people still scoff at the thought of an electric motorcycle. Those who have accepted them only expect ‘commuting’ from them.

But one has to consider something important. Motorcycles in India, for a long time, were seen just that way… as commuters. And look at us now; India is now one of the most prolific motorcycle markets in the world, with nearly every manufacturer vying for a slice of this particular pie.

How did that change come about? With time. So, we believe the same thing is going to happen with electric motorcycles. And motorcycles like the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 Recon are going to play a prominent role in this change.

Why? Let us talk about it.

We will start with the manufacturer. One of the most important aspects of establishing a motorcycle’s image is the portrayal. In this department, Ultraviolette has hit the nail right on the head. They have been very specific in regards to how people perceive the F77 Mach 2 Recon. It is touted to be a performance motorcycle, and that is what takes centre stage.

The performance aspect, before moving on to the numbers, is also clearly alluded to by the design. The electric two-wheeler market is full of overdesigned and underwhelming (in terms of relative performance) motorcycles. We are fans of outlandish designs, yes, but they also have to serve a function. In that regard, the F77 Mach 2 Recon is inch-perfect.

When we first saw it, it blew us away. It seemed more like something that would come from the house of a European manufacturer. But it was conceived, designed, and manufactured right here in India. The proportions are fantastic, and the front-biased design exudes performance.

Attention to detail is plenty. Minimal stickering, great paint quality and a terrific choice of colours; all in all, a stunning execution of the idea behind the motorcycle. The lack of graphics gives it a clean look, and the decals used are just the right amount.

The front fork tower covers stand out, and they are touted to be aerodynamically important as well. Form and function, hand in hand. In addition to the design, again, the way it is portrayed and marketed has been phenomenal.

Inspired by the world of fighter planes, their showrooms are called hangars and their meetups are called sorties. Every motorcyclist, once in their life, has thought of being a fighter pilot, and this sort of thing plays into the lore around the motorcycle perfectly.

Then, it has the performance to back its looks. A 10.3 kWh battery pack, around 40 horsepower, and most importantly, 100 Nm of torque. These numbers make it capable of a 0-100 km/h time of under 8 seconds and a top speed of around 155 km/h. To us, these numbers are more than respectable.

When it comes to dynamics, the F77 Mach 2 impresses again. It has excellent braking hardware from ByBre with a 320mm disc at the front and 230mm at the rear with dual-channel ABS. 110-section tyre at the front and 150-section at the rear, with the rubber being supplied by MRF, is also a nice touch.

Geometry is bang on as well. The wheelbase is 1,340mm, which is on the shorter side, which, along with the sharp rake, makes sure that the F77 Mach 2 is not a slouch around the bends either. So, even with a kerb weight of 207 kilos, which to us is very impressive, the motorcycle can keep up with very respectable motorcycles in the class.

Also, we love how the regen works on the F77 Mach 2. It is adjustable and does more than enough to mimic engine braking on conventional ICE motorcycles. Also, the range is very respectable as well. It is claimed to go 323 km in Glide Mode, and even in the super-aggressive Ballistic Mode, it can do 170 km, which is quite impressive.

The charging is quite robust as well. It can go from 20% to 80% in 5 hours with the regular charger and in 2.5 hours with the optional boost charger. The battery has an IP67 enclosure, which ensures safety. Ultraviolette has gone to great lengths to prove the reliability of the F77 Mach 2, and it has passed all the tests with flying colours.

Finally, the F77 Mach 2 Recon is also loaded when it comes to electronics. It has an ECU that captures 3,000 data points every second. This data is used for many things, such as the 9-axis IMU, which has an accelerometer, a gyrometer and a magnetometer for GPS and location services.

Thanks to all that, the motorcycle has multiple levels of traction control, dynamic regen, hill-hold assist, park assist and so on. All of these are tied up with the Violette AI phone app, which further strengthens the electronic and connectivity aspects of the motorcycle. Another interesting bit is the DSC system of the F77 Mach 2. It activates ABS when dynamic regen is activated, so ABS works even when you are not actuating the brakes.

So overall, the F77 Mach 2 Recon is a very capable motorcycle. There was no reason for us not to consider making it a part of the xBhp Garage. We have a lot of things planned for the F77 Mach 2 Recon as we try to put it to our own tests and see if we finally have an electric motorcycle that can take the fight to giants that have been around for decades. And from what we have seen so far… it just might!
