I don't mind staying in an camp AT ALL, if I can get to see and click the pictures of the wonderful lake during the early hours.

Four days would be required to complete the whole stretch of Delhi - Chandratal - Delhi, I believe. It is really high on my "to ride to" places now!

Thumbs up

Every time I read the Tourer section&see the pics, I feel a pange of jealousy that I'm down here in the Southern part of India. Wish I were also based in Delhi so that I would have proximity to the most exotic locations! This thread will be an excellent guide IMO to the budding tourers. As usual, Ken da, you are sharing your experiences which will be fruitful to many a biker out there!

Help me please!!!
My idea is to have a satisfying ride at the end.
When do you plan to go Mik? Rohtang would hopefully be open by the last week of April by the look of things. Right now, you would be permitted only uptil Gulaba

Shimla - Chakrata, you can easily do. Any other details u require on this route, feel free to ask.

I was planning to go in second week of April. Maybe i will go in may or june now.
But still looking for a 3 day tour. Please suggest.
The Narkanda route seems 4 days.
I dont wanna rush things as it will be the first time my wife will be sitting on the bike for more than 6 hours (just a small lansdowne trip experience u see )

@DD: That is the Naini lake, I believe. It's just that the weather was like that when Mik clicked it. The exact same place, when I went there in the month of January-February, this year.

@Mik: Am I right?

I guess guys should also suggest....
>where o stay during the visit.XBHP.com recomended places.
>What to try out Food/Joints etc at the place visited.
>Any important to keep in mind while visiting these places.

It would be really helpful if you could share the approx budget for the 3-4 day trips.

Desi if you want that kind of atmosphere and aura then i would suggest that you go to Nainital in the month of June.

It's simply awesome there.

i'm going anyone?

Hi,

Well I'm more keen on doing the shimla - chakrata route. Just had some queries:

1. State of road after rohru as reading in google plays havoc in mind.
2. From Rohru to chakrata - how much time, is it easy or difficult?

I plan to do this in three days, starting Chandigarh & visit Rishikesh while coming back..... psbl?

Dates fixed: departure on 9th of April at 2 pm. Back by 13th evening.
