Launched in 1999, Suzuki Hayabusa has seen only one significant update since then which was in 2008 when it got changes in design and a more powerful engine.
Now, if any recent “secret” drawings are to be believed, we may see the second significant update in 2017 Hayabusa especially related to the chassis. According to some drawings, Suzuki’s Hypersport flagship is going to get an all new frame, which is said to be much lighter than the current one, thereby noticeably improving the overall performance and handling even if the engine remains same.
The chassis drawings highlight 3 specific areas – 3, 4 and 5 – where 3 is the front section of the frame which is supposed to be extremely light along with some cross-bracing for rigidity, 4 is the middle section and the strongest part of the frame as it will support the engine. This particular section will also support any flex which shall be transferred from the front and back section of the chassis. Lastly, 5 is also said to be extremely light as well thereby significantly bringing down the overall weight of the motorcycle.
Yet, it remains to be seen how accurate these drawings are going to be. So far, there’s really no concrete word from Suzuki on the 2017 Hayabusa. It’s probable updated design is still a mystery.
