Ducati India has launched Ducati 959 Panigale. The bike is priced at Rs 14 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It’s a successor of the 899 Panigale and is open for bookings in the country. Earlier the bike was showcased at EIMCA, Milan in 2015.
The Ducati 959 Panigale is a middle weight sports bike that will replace the existing 899 Panigale. The bike will be manufactured in Thailand and come to India via the CBU route. It will be officially available in showrooms from July, 2016 onwards in the existing dealerships at New Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Powering the new Ducati 959 Panigale is a new 955cc, 90-degree, V-twin, Superqudro, Desmodromic, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to churn out 157bhp of power at 10,500rpm and 107.4Nm of torque at 9,000rpm matched to a 6-speed Ducati Quick Shift gearbox.
Ravi Avalur, Managing Director, Ducati India said: “We are very excited to bring the new super-mid Ducati Superbike to India. The Ducati 959 Panigale is the perfect balance between impressive design and breath-taking performance and it embodies Ducati’s premium sportbike culture.”
In comparison to its predecessor “899 Panigale” the new 959 is restyled front fascia and has larger air intakes, the bike has borrowed style clues from elder sibling ie Panigale 1299. But the most noticeable change would be the dual-side exhaust which makes it 7 kilos heavier than the outgoing model. The bike comes equipped with ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Quick Shifter, Engine Braking Control, adjustable riding modes and Ride by Wire.
