Internet has been abuzz for the last couple of days with the pictures of what looks like the 2017 Honda Fireblade (CBR 1000RR). Pictures show the motorcycle being ridden and in parked.
While this is a great news for the Fireblade fans and sportbike enthusiasts in general, as the new Fireblade has been long overdue, there are certain things in the spy shots that point to the current CBR 1000RR.
Part of the main frame which is visible looks quite similar to the current frame and so do the engine casing covers. The swing-arm appears to be the same as well suggesting that this might not be an all-new motorcycle. This is, perhaps, disappointing if true. However, no matter what is visible in the pictures, this is still a speculation as Honda has hardly revealed any concrete information on their upcoming update to the litre-class flagship.
Also, there are that are clearly new as well. First, the all-new bodywork, of course, and the entire tail section. The rear sub-frame is new as well. The exhaust is clearly different and will help the Fireblade to be Euro-4 compliant.
Whatever be the case, we would like to believe that Honda will be kitting up the Blade with the latest gizmos that are now available in many other Superbikes. The power shall be around 200 BHP mark to bring the performance closer to the likes of BMW S1000RR, Yamaha YZF-R1 and Kawasaki ZX-10R.
