Research & development towards driver-less vehicles has evolved where motorcycles will also get the safety features which will avoid collisions; which mostly happen at intersections and turns. The recent video released by Bosch has explained about the situations narrating on both motorcycle rider and car driver perspectives where both will get a safety alert warning either through audio or visual based on the communication system installed in their vehicle before taking the turns and crossing intersections.
The Vehicle to Vehicle technology helps in transferring the data in a certain frequency (5.9GHz) 10 times a second which helps in determining the directions, speed, and acceleration of the opposite vehicles. We have already shared the technology used in this safety feature “Vehicle to Vehicle talks to evade accidents“. Bosch is also working more on developing new features in ABS, blind spot alert, hill hold control safety, cornering control to enhance the riding experience & safety for the motorcyclists.
With V2V Technology, Bosch emphasis on safety where all the vehicle moves around on the road gets the benefit.
As mentioned earlier in the news, According to the official statistics by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB, 2015), “141,526 persons were killed and 477,731 injured in road traffic crashes in India in 2015. However, this is probably an underestimate, as not all injuries are reported to the police. The actual numbers of injuries requiring hospital visits may be 2,000,000-3,000,000 persons.”
By seeing statistics of the road accidents happens in India, these are very welcoming technologies and features to get implement in India as well.
