It's a very good phone. But, It's 2 main problems are Image Quality and Close ups.Originally posted by goatiguru29 View PostI have booked for nokia N86
...will be getting it on monday or tuesday...guyz have i made the right decision for going for this phone??
Image Quality can be solved later, through a Firmware (Software) Update, as Hardware is fine...
However, Closeups will always remain a problem as it has a Wider Lens. So, if you take some guy's close-up photo, his nose might look bigger & wider ...
Apart from that, its a great phone with tremendous VFM, and it matches my Samsung INNOV8 in most features ... (INNOV8 costed me Rs. 39,000)..
However, if you don't want software system, but want better music & Image Quality, you can go for Sony Ericcson W995 ...
I don't remember prices, as I usually have almost unlimited budget...what is the phone wit the best loudspeaker under 9g's
Sony: Ericsson W910, W595, C510, T650, T700,
Nokia: 6500 Classic, 6210 Navigator, 3250 XpressMusic
Samsung: B2700, D900, G400 Soul, i620, i780, M3200,
LG: KC550, KF 750 Secret,
All these sets are great at loudspeaker music & volume ...---

Okies guys....i dont now if this is the right thread to post this.
Am looking to get myself a good music player. Previously my N82 used to satisfy my music needs but now its in australia....i miss it
. Right now am using samsung star 3g. but audio clarity sucks!
Now i want a good mp3 player which matches the clarity of N82. Pls suggest me some. It would be better if its like Ipod shuffle with big buttons so that i can change tracks and volume while riding!07 HH Zma

Sorry for late reply ...
Browsing would be fine, and I recommend using after market browsers, not the in-box browser...Originally posted by goatiguru29 View Postthanks samrat...my main use is for browsing....and dont even care for the camera...is the music quality bad
...you really are the guru of mobiles
However, let me clarify that the best Nokias in "Browsing", are definitely the E-Series... But then, they don't match up in Media ...
Music Quality of N86 is very good, if not best! In fact, it is very enjoyable...
and I'm not a Guru. just trying to help through my experience and sets I tested.
Bro, Frankly speaking, I rank N82 in music quality, as "Average". Its not bad but someone used to iPods and N91 can't be satisfied by it...Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostOkies guys....i dont now if this is the right thread to post this.

There are TOO MANY sets which have overtaken N82 in terms of music.
In the cheapest range, Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic & Samsung Beat F270 overtake it in music.
In Mid Range, 6720 Classic, N81, N79, N85, etc. do the job good!
In high range, N96 & N97 are there ...
All the underlined sets above, have dedicated (Special) Music Keys, like you mentioned in last paragraph ...
5800 has a near excellent Music System, but it has a bad camera and the touch response is a bit unreliable. Also, Apps are very less for its Symbian OS 5th Edition ...Originally posted by jayesh.khushalani View Posti have finally collected the mollah for 5800
but these days whatever has happened with me has made me a bit doubtful about the quality of nokia
should i go ahead and purchase it or something else in that range having some very decent quality???
If you don't need touch, but a great 5 MP Cam, with better audio than 5800, with more SPEED & APPS SUPPORT, you can choose 6720 Classic. If it meets budget, go for it!
If you want to change later, and want a starting phone with near excellent music, go for 5130 Xpressmusic. Costs only Rs. 5400...
and I dare say that, it has Damn Good Value For Money, for the features it offers...
About Quality, you'll have to specify ... What kind of quality? Media Quality, Build & Plastics Quality, Call Quality or any other aspect?
These sets I mentioned above have no big quality problems, except 5800's issues (mentioned above)...---

^ Well, I had this Sony Earphones, which were grey colored, and they went round the head from backside, making them somewhat like Headphones... They costed me some Rs. 700 and really high VFM. They were optimised for Bass, and what damn good response they gave, in all frequency ranges.
However, I lost the box and can't remember the model, I still have it though...
There in-ear earphones are generally good. I used one of these with Apple iPod itself, but that was too long ago... Don't remember much to comment, but it was not the best I heard...
However, these cause a Headache after 1-2 hours of listening, unless they are balanced earphones, with no extra Bass or Treble...---

Can somebody suggest a decent phone with Wi-Fi. My budget:
"as low as possible without having to buy Chinese
"
My main use is to browse the net using the phone. Are there any other cheaper options?
Thanks,
