First of all, let me tell about myself something, I've used about 14 different phones since 2010, all of them being above 15k up to 30k.
Now answering your post.
1. Build quality. Samsung is pathetic in most cases (leaving tab 2, NS,s2,s4 and note 3)
Read about plastic quality of Samsung on internet.with yourself with thousands reviews.
Sony is king after HTC.
2.Samsung lags the most
If you've any technical knowledge, then you should've known why..all thanks to that crappy touchwiz ui and s- apps. Experienced sammy users first root and remove all these bloatwares to use their phone.
3.best phone this time is iphone 5 followed by Nexus 5(currently using)
4. Dual core and 1 gb ram fail in 2013. ..? Please use a LG l9 and galaxy core/ s2 at same time and see difference,on my father's L9 internal memory is just 200MB left(hardcore games like shadowgun,dead trigger, gta) check even l9 has a bigger screen, so more processing, but it never lagged on me in my 7 month usage and my sister still scolds me when his almost empty galaxy core lags even now and then.
So conclusion, I will never buy Samsung again and most people are thinking same as designing is cheap class in Samsung, a 4k sammy phone looks like a scale model of 40k premium flagship device.and people are getting tired of that nonsense.
If you love android phone BUY ONLY NEXUS (kickass), for phablets it's Samsung
LG after using 4 LG products, I've been bound to buy LG forever.
ANOTHRR YHING ABOUT FEATURES AND LATEST TECH.
1. First touchscreen phone was LG prada
2. First camera phone was also by LG (don't remember name.
3. First dual core phone was LG 2x
4. First quad core phone was LG 4x
5. First curved phone is LG gflex ( it launched only a couple of days before galaxy round but still)

Regarding octa better than quad. Don't just follow sheep trend.
A quad vote is fully dedicated
A octa core on other hand, is divided into two parts, one quad core for gaming and another for normal tasking
So in end current octa is slower in terms of performance than quad.
Example Samsung s4 quad core (usa) is more faster than a octa core s4. Octa core has more battery life as it saves on processing.so current octa core devices are not True octa core. Recently mediatek has launched a TRUE octa core chipset (18 HOURS AGO) so in upcoming future, a octa will be faster than a quad, bit not now, especially in sammy s4,N3 etve

Buddy , if a dual core device with 1 gb ram can handle heavy games, it doesn't means that it is giving you lagfree performance. May be the graphics are doing good for your phone. Also , if you see dual core devices from indians like mmx a89 , then it has got 512 mb ram but it can play all the high end games, believe me its not that laggy, and also it has got 260 mb ram free out of 512 mb. Not always a dualcore processor or a gb of ram on combining give laggy feedback.But to be precise I am not talking about samsung's galaxy y,ace or grands.I have used s3,s4,note2,and grand, except grand, all were lagfree, and by lagfree,i mean no lags at all Also, by saying octa is better than quad i meant octa cored processor is better than quad, i didn't mention any specific model. About build quality, high end sammy's have a better build quality, once my note 2 was broken by a fall but , thats ok coz i was standing on stair, sony has got a good body, but interbals are pathetic, after a fall , you dont know what will stop working. Even i like HTC, my first device was explorer, awesome build and it never broke, but I am avoiding HTC one because of its camera, is it good?

I'm not much experienced when it comes to smartphones, the best one I ever had was an X2-02 which I torture tasted and it endured them all. I once tied it to the handle of my bicycle and recorded videos continuously for two hours in 37 degrees of heat over pothole ridden excuse for a highway.
OT: But I spend last 5 hours checking every component of my X2-02 with a multimeter when out of a blue moon it showed "SIM card rejected" only to find out that the SIM card was indeed faulty when I inserted it another cellphone.
Such a waste of time.

Lol not every phone was of 15k, only LG l9 was, ready were normally over 20k and up to 30k.

Second if you wanna enjoy android today, you should have at least 1.5ghz 1 Gb ram.
Second, if a phone is able to play heavy games lagfree IT WILL RUN LAG FREE ,proVIDED games are played in high resolution.
Second tell me which heavy game can a 512 mb ram phone play...? Angry birds..?
Third current quad IS BETTER THAN OCTA IN TERMS OF PERFORMANCE IN EVERY MODEL.I gave you an example of your beloved sammy flagship device.
Fourth, you dont expect a 5 inch phone to be built like a tank in just <8 mm of thickness, maybe you got lucky with note2, my Sony xperia s fell from the first floor of my home and survived, I stepped upon a HTC ONE ,it survived, my nexus s dropped 20 cm above from my bed, it broke like shit. Thing is you cannot determine build quality just because it didn't broke on you once. There are shearing stress, bending force,torsional moment and area upon which it was applied in what sense like factors, which needs to be considered.
Fifth a dual core 1.5 gb ram phone is more kickass than a quad core 750 mb ram, it doesn't depends on what FRER ram you get,it depends upon the type if your phone's gpu and how it utilizes that ram.
Note I've never used a cheap or even middle range smartphone.

I am using LG L9 from last 6 months, and everything said is true. I was in the market for an Android phone for less than 20,000. Micromaxs, Karbbons and all such brands were out of my list.

Only options were Samsung Salaxy Grand with dual core and Quad core. After having used Samsung S, and S3 earlier, I was not inclined to Samsung, as rightly said, Samsung phones do lag and I find them boring.

Read reviews about Lg L9, and the moment I saw it in Reliance, I was impressed by screen size, design, picture quality and it does not lag no matter what you do.

I am looking for an android phone again now, and options that i have now is Nexus 5, and HTC One.

I am looking for a new phone...want to try Lumia 720. But am confused between 720(4.29 inches screen) and 625(4.7 inches screen). Today, where every android in this range are providing 1 Ghz processor how does Lumia's 512 mb RAM performs. I don't like the lag in UI...is there any?? Please enlighten me.

Since this post is about bad experience of a mobile phone company, let me share mine.
I bought myself a BlackBerry Torch 9860 (First mistake). And just after 8 months of usage the phone went blank. It wasn't booting. Got it replaced from service centre. But the replacement took bloody 32 days. And then again in a weeks time, same issue. This repeated 4 times in almost 5 months and then the company stated that since I've tampered with the quality or some sort of seal they cannot service it. This is like they were running away from the problems. This is not how a premium manufacturer or rather a business man treats his customers.
And I used to think that BlackBerry is one of the best Cellphone companies. Lolz. "Unkaa to diwaala nikal chooka hain. Mobile phone ka production band kaarne ki sochh raahe hain."
