Guys, how good is the samsung s duos as compared to samsung s advance. Just considering these 2 because of my budget restrain. But would really appreciate some first hand reviews.

in our xbhp language its like comparing fazer wit p220

S duos is overpriced for tat specs wit that out dated gpu and single core ,any day s advance is better only -ve of advance is the lack of ics or jb but Samsung had confirmed direct jb update so it should'nt be a problem..however ull get custom ics roms..btw at any cost don't go for sola better get a110 and p500 for tat price..btw also take a look at a110

And ur reasons for that?? Also do consider the exterior style that Sola offeres (along with respectable hardware) compared to other phones..

3.7" which is too small by current standards. Laggy timescape ui which lags out of the box.stuck with gb.poor battery backup that to mounted back...I'm saying this after using my friends sola well me using a110 found sola irritating so if tc not interested in micromax, advance is always a better choice

Just wanted to post that one of my friend got a budget secondary phone just for messaging, its SANSUI S25 for 1400 rs and he is super happy with it. I've used it for sometime and its real value for money at that price, Dual sim, FM without headset operation, FM recording and main highlight is its torch.
The torch is the best i've seen on mobiles, it has mini projector sort of setup (sort of p220's mini headlight

)
Battery is lasting for 3 days which is at par

i agree, but one must add HTC 1x+ to the list as well.

Strongly disagree. Note 2 is baap only in Size, I used my cousine's iPhone 5 and at nearly same price iPhone 5's quality is grand-baap of S3 and Note-2, Samsung's battery performance is very bad. I played hours on my cousines iPhone 5 and its battery is damnnnnn amazing. Even it is dual core but I played a 2GB game which lags in Galaxies. Pureview is the crappiest fone ever made. No sense in providng 41 MP camera. Buy a 24K Canon DSLR if so worried about camera. Only Mexapixel doesnt do anythng. a 12MP DSLR will outclass a 41MP Pureview. Even IPhone5 camera at 8MP wil outclass Pureview badly. Im not an apple fanboy but after using friends/relatives iPhone 5, S2, Nokia high end fones it is apparent

Disagree on battery life of Note 2. I have a Note 2 for over 2 months now and I play games, listen songs, surf net, stream videos on it while performing typical mobile phone tasks, and so far I have never had to recharge it within 24 hours. That is pretty amazing in my books.

iPhone 5 retails at 45k while you can gwt Note 2 in 37k in market. That is not nearly the same price considering how much more you get in Note 2, big screen or functionality wise.

Ease of use copying files, sharing etc makes me love my Galaxy Note it plays 3d games extremely well, battery drains if playing games if not lasts 2 days .
The camera too is excellent.
Have a iphone 4 at home too restrictive i feel. Feel the same for all apple devices very restrictive.

Thats good. My friends note2 got stolen so didnt get good chance to use it although its a nice cell. But does it feel perfectly pocketable esp in Jeans? Am not sure but the guy whose note2 got stolen says that iPhone5 is getting retailed in some mall in Bangalore @38k now. Not sure about that. iPhone has many shortcomngs which I dont like, no bluetooth, no FM, more paid apps (although apps quality is quite good) but build quality is very good and now they have introduced new earphones in iPhone5 and iPod 5th Gens which are great to listen. I have a 4th gen iPod and its sound quality was not that good as famous they were and it got damaged on its own. New ones are great! I personally don't like 'in-ear' earphones which come with Sony/Samsung. I would prefer a Skull-Candy or even Schenheizer Headphone otherwise.

@Enthusiastic: I would say that Note 2's size is just about right for a big phone. It depends, if you wear regular fit jeans more often then it fits fine without issues but obviously in a tighter jeans you'll have problems. And it has has absolutely no problems in a trouser. Overall, I would say it is not much of an issue.

I had a iPhone 3gs before it and I loved it. I am not loyal to any mobile manufacturer though I have preferences. Like you say, I love the fit and finish of iPhones, even my 3gs is so well built. Hopefully, Apple will make some necessary changes in their iOS and most likely my next phone will again be an iPhone :-)
