Airtel and Vodafone have already started placing orders for the NANO sims. So you should get on by the time your iPhone reaches you. And you cannot cut a regular sim to a Nano sim as was the case of Micro Sims. Hold your horses and expect the Nano sims to be around soon.Originally posted by joe350 View Post

Guys, mobile newbie here. I want to buy an Android powered phone. My budget is strictly INR 10000. After some research on the net, I found the HTC Explorer and the new Sony Tipo good. But while the former has an Android v2.3, the latter has an Android v4. Should I go in for the Tipo? Please recommend any other phones you think is VFM too. Cheers!

My suggestion would be to 1st compare the Hardware of both the devices such as the Processor Speed, RAM, PPI, Battery ampere etc...
Once you get a phone which has a good hardware, you can always root it (if you are willing to take risk, and is comfortable about the same) and thereby can upload the latest OS.

Thanks for the link. HTC explorer seems to be bang for the buck. Can I root it to android v4?Originally posted by Shibadip View PostMy suggestion would be to 1st compare the Hardware of both the devices such as the Processor Speed, RAM, PPI, Battery ampere etc...

I would not recommend that. Had one on my cycle for the S2 and it just broke??? Never knew why as I mostly do tarmac cycling. It would be even more scarier on a bikeOriginally posted by Above_All View PostPlanning to get a mobile holder for bike ,
Found some while searching on internet .
any one tried something similar ?
How good & trustable are they when speed is around 100 kmph ?
Some time ago seen one posted by satyen in some thread , don't remember exactly which one , it would be nice if some one point to that thread it this is off topic here .

But I am worried about the feedback on Sony phones. Have not come across a Tipo user yet. Owners of explorer seem to be satisfied with it.Originally posted by clintz77 View Posti am using htc explorer. good VFM ...yes u can flash android 4.0. xperia tipo has faster processor n more internal memory and comes with stock 4.0

^Hey, what is a bloatware?
Basically, worried about the battery. Since explorer is tried and tested I am inclined towards it. Tipo, I haven't really read proper reviews except for hardware comparisons. Also, could not find comparisons between the two except hardware comparisons (courtesy gsmarena).Originally posted by aargee View PostWhy, what are the issues known with Sony mobile phones?Last edited by pushkarb; 10-04-2012, 03:49 PM.
