Can't comment on these. Didn't use. Still with my 5000 mAH Universal Battery(cost around 2.5K 9 months back), I can recharge my 1000 mAH GPS for 4-5 times. Or my phone for 2-3 times. You can get 7500 mAH or 10000 mAH batteries too.

Good dude. I will try the Solar option and share my experience by the end of this year. Right now prices are on the higher side. During holiday season Prices usually come down, let me ask my friends staying in US to get me one. My sole intention is to stay off grid.

hello everybody . I will buying new phone soon. My budget is 12k and my requirements are :
1.should be able to view pdf and doc files.
2.should have atleast 2MP camera
3. Good navigation system.
4.lots of Free games.

Please suggest some good phones

NOTE: I am having the habit of droping the phone quiet often. So phone should not be delicate.

Check GSMARENA and narrow down your choice of phones. Then compare the prices through online portals. Then give us options to choose between.. Else this discussion will go on and on..

Which OS would like prefer ? Your choice depends on it...

ok now having 2 phones in mind
1. samsung s5830
2.htc wildfire

Galaxy Ace is a better option but if u can increase your budget to 15k, there are much better fones available.

You can also consider Nokia Lumia 610 which is a Windows fone with 3.7" screen.

HTC Desire C @ 13k is also good option with ICS.

nokia asha is not an android phone. and believe me, the world has moved on... moved on to android phones. the kind of experience an android phone gives is miles ahead of symbian or even blackberry. and for internet usage, an android phone is the best bet. in your budget range, the screen sizes you will get are morw or less same, still try to find atleast 3.2 screen size for internet viewing.

android phones have an added benifit of getting a lot of free softwares.

even i am using samsung galaxy pop which costed me 8000 rupees.

my suggestion is increase you budget to 8000 rupees and get the best android that comes in that budget, even if it means waiting for a few months or cutting your other expenses, but its worth it.

try samsung or i will say even micromax is not bad. stay away from karbonn.

regarding battery backup, you wont get extra long battery backup time with feature rich mobile phones as these extra multimedia / internet / android sucks battery. but still its worth it.

one more thing, there are few tablet phones available in 6000 rupees on internet and homeshop18. check those out.

ABikerAtHeart - My friend said, Nokia is a dying brand; I realized it after buying my XPeria U though I overshot my budget by 5K. Go for android/icecreamsandwich or anything, worth every penny.

You won't be able to realize the full potential of Android unless you get yourself at least a mid range phone. The issue with lower end phones is that navigation won't work due to lack of magnetometer and you will be left wanting for more. And the important fact is low internal memory. Below 10k I would suggest HTC explorer, LG Optimus one, Samsung Galaxy Y - resolution is poor. Save up and buy a better phone than the ones mentioned here. Else go for any Nokia, BB or whichever platform; shouldn't make much of a difference.

Am no apple fan boy. I myself use Samsung Galaxy S2, Newton is the grandpa of the modern day tablets and Galaxy Note.
