^^^ not had to change my starter motor till date. However, had to change the one way starter clutch once. I am a bit surprised that you had to change your starter motor. I though you were running a stock ECU. Most problems are due to the RD ECU, where the bike tends to reverse crank if it does not fire up in couple of tries.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Re: All YZF R15's engineered by Joel.
Went to Joels yesterday and changed the front sproket and made little taller. Now in 6th gear @4K rpm it does ~56kmph.. earlier it was doing ~50kmph. I suppose I can reach 150kmph ~11k rpm..
I suppose there will loss of acceleration in 1st and 2nd as it is further taller but should be very little loss as the torque is very good in this set up..
Will update u guys soon about that. Its hard for me to find time in my busy schedule.. untill then ride hard..Last edited by Sivasundaran; 05-01-2013, 12:40 PM.----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think I am reviving a dead thread. Its important that misconception has to be cleared out. I can see people are comparing cast liner block to an all aluminium block. Steel liner should have cross hatch (honing) marks to retain the oil in the cylinder, where as Diasil has silicon embedded particles which doesnot have honing marks as with the liner based block. You can clearly see there is no honing marks in the Diasil cylinder, hence the bore will be shiny compared to iron sleeve block.

According to Yamaha, both the piston and cylinder of YZF-R15 version 2.0 are made of all-aluminium and provide excellent heat dissipation. Its dissipation rate is three times better than steel. DiAsil cylinder also eliminates heat-induced engine power loss, and helps to improve fuel efficiency. Yamaha claims that the Die-cast Aluminium Silicon cylinder is given a special surface treatment to prevent oil evaporation from the cylinder’s surface and improves oil consumption. The Die-cast Aluminium Silicon cylinder also has excellent hardness quality and is considerably resistant to wear & tear as compared to conventional iron sleeves according to Yamaha.Last edited by vijaycool; 03-10-2016, 09:39 PM.

No point in rehashing things out here. The bottom line is this:Originally posted by vijaycool View PostI think I am reviving a dead thread. Its important that misconception has to be cleared out. The gentleman never provided the required support. He did not live up to the commitments made by him in terms of quality, performance & delivery of parts.
The inevitable reason that the cast iron cylinders is being compared with hypereutectic aluminum cylinders is because the gentleman was supplying big bore cylinder which was basically a bored out stock cylinder with a press fit cast iron liner. He made certain claims for this part being as reliable and long lasting as stock cylinders which inevitably did not live up to the claims due various reasons.
Don't get me wrong, I am aware of the pros and cons of both types of cylinders. It was a part of the learning experience. My personal experience with the gentleman's parts allowed me to learn a lot from the whole episode and I do not have any bitterness towards the whole thing.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Re: All YZF R15's engineered by Joel.
Hi. I am not comparing kit provided by a particular supplier. People might confuse why their Diasil bores are shiny than regular steel liner bore and think that their bore is shot. So I have posted my findings which might be useful for the fellow members.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostNo point in rehashing things out here. The bottom line is this:
