    • Well BMW, Mercedes and other car manufacturers do this..ie they test engines and transmissions for future cars in their present models as test mules or they really cover up the body with cladding and stuff. This could have been an early test mule to come out of TVS because i heard a long time ago that someone had seen the 180 in a green color at the factory. You never know, this could just be TVS dangling the bait, we all fell for it..and meantime the real deal comes out and we are all wowed

        • Tyres...the TVS should fit good pair of rubbers as we have in R15.

Engine... should be a mod friendly one...so we can squeeze more horses

Handling...it should pump more confidence in us when we put our knees down at MMSC track and Kari's.

Looks...bike enthu's like xbhpians aren't really after looks...but atleast for the sake of junta the RTR 180 should look different from 160.

          • Sincere apologies to my fellow members and TVS M
This is not the final vehicle/specs. It was a misrepresentation of information. I sincerelyapologize for the gross miscommunicating of this piece of information. This not only puts in jeopardy the vehicle opinion but also the credibility of net forums like ours where we believe people who are passionate about the bike Apache RTR are members. Also TVS M uses the forum to gain feedback and involve us members in targetted activities like ARE specifically for us.

Now misreprsentation of this type not shows poorly on the bike looks which are not the final but also the performance of the bike which cant be captured here. Now RTR is a bike I bought cause of its performance and not looks alone.

My actions have gravely caused immense problems for all involved as its not the final vehicle and TVS within its right might push for strict compliance measures against some. This was only a test mule I guess and my actions have not only brought misrepute to the forum and me but also to TVS Motor Company.

I am a proud owner of Apache RTR and that is what is causing this immense guilt and remorse over my actions. The vehicle will be out in due course of time and I have been requested by manufacturer to abstain from this kind of needless speculation and false communications.

My humblest apologies to one and all again.

              • Now this incident seems so much similar to the BAJAJ's showroom fiasco.Something fishy going on with these two Indian manufacturers. Two goof-ups of similar kind is hard to digest!!

                • @ everyone here.........
Ok RTR180 would not change drastically when it comes to looks but performance parts would make it look radically different from the rest of the current RTRs.
The uplifted end cans, better tyres, changed wheelbase, lower seat and new colour and new graphics scheme would all make this bike look distinct from RTR160.
These changes would be there we know from the time of last autoexpo.Whats new is that it is also getting a higher 180cc displced engine.................
This is all what I want from RTR180 and I firmly believe that most performance bikers here wants that too..........Thats all, RTR180 looks different from RTR160.

Yes the RTR 180 is different in looks it is half faired, there is an official mail to all the TVS dealerships. So if someone can just take a glance at the way RTR180 looks. Should expect P220 like fairing (muscular).

                    • I have seen the bike in flesh about a few months ago.
Just wanted to clarify a few things on this thread.
                      1. For heavens sake this bike is not called MENACE, its the TVS Apache RTR 180 only
                      2. Nobody from TVS said the bike is half faired and has projectors. It was the usual rumour monkers on this forum who did so. So I'm sure expectations were wrongly set.
                      3. The pics are very very close to the actual product and its not fake. Its the prototype RTR 180.
                      4. The rear tyre is indeed a TVS 110/80 - 17 pattern of the existing RTR 160 rubber.
                      5. The dials and the paint scheme is for real and thats to distinguish the RTR 180.
                      6. The RTR180 will be introduced with a BS29 Mikuni CV carb which I personally feel is the best bet for tuning. An FI engine is for later, a few months after this.
                      7. The engine size remains the same. The stroke length has been upped with the same piston size and the head is also physically the same. No need to make the cylinder visually bigger coz the bore size is not upped.
                      8. The bike will have a few subtile styling changes over the existing RTR160, something like what the P200 is to the P180. However the loud RTR lettering on the side scoops is very unlikely to make it to production.
                      9. Rear disc is standard and the rest of the cycle parts are pretty much the same as the RTR 160.

Hope this clears a lot of doubts.

Hmm what made them do away with 18 at back?

Looks nice lets see how it looks in person

The P200 & P180 look very different except from front, so I wonder what other changes the 180 would have.
