C'mon guys, those are some very valid and helpful expectations! Especially the self cancelling indicators, current gear indicator and a 0-any speed programmable timer! I'd LOVE to see these in the new RTR.
Also there are rumors about ABS in the Menace... will be GREAT if theyre true!!

Well I wasn't serious about all these features but a side stand light and self canceling indicators aren't that far fetched. Even the competition (pulsar) has it. They are useful.

RTR's clipons are also not that low that it wil make shoulders go kaput while touring.....................people can crack continents on Busa which is not a cruiser or neither a full fleged tourer at all and its clipons in accordance to its body is still lower than RTR.........Then why so much fuss about touring..................I can take the RTR out for touring anyday.
The main issue here is that the engine performs as a high revving race engine which might not be best for touring.Fuel consumption and engine heat would be higher than say ZMA.If you can live with that its OK......as is for me

I beg to differ coz I have done my share of long rides on my Stock Group D spec RTR and in the modified trim.
The RTR160 does 100kmph at a tacho indicated 7600rpm but true is 8000rpm(coz the speedo has an error rate). Any Indian bike does around 7000rpm. The R15 although really tall geared still does 7100rpm(speedo figures, not true). The RTR revs till 10000rpm and does a true 125kmph. An R15 can also rev till 10000rpm and does a true 130 odd.
In anycase, the RTR is just revving a few hundreds more and not thousands of rpm more.
And about the fuel efficiency part, I'm a guy who keeps a close eye on fuel economy of any car/bike i use. So i have the details.
In my Group D stock spec set-up, during long rides with speeds above 100 mostly, it returned me a good 41-43kmpl. This is better than most indian bikes at that speed. A Zma will dip to 28-30kmpl.
On my modified set-up, during my last week's ride to CBE it returned me a surprising 42kmpl and the bike was short geared. Was running a short final gearing and wheel size coz it was meant for the Kari Tracks' tight corners. Now this time, the engine had a bigger carb, freeflow, high comp and other works. It was more fuel efficient than sajiv/karthiks R15 and samyaza's p220 during the ride for the speeds I was doing. I was topping some 140 on the speedo with the tacho hitting 11k.
Isnt this more fuel efficient than a karizma?
