BINGO. The Pulsar engine becomes to noisy and vibrates like a,... well Vibera*&% after heavy mods.

            • Joel you are right.Even if you study mechanics and etc still there are no perfect formulae for tuning intake, exhaust length, port angle or etc, there may be theorotical formulae but they only work in theory but in practicality its quite different. In practice first we need to try calculations and then trial and error is the way to go.But mostly trial and error only succeds.

              • ^Yes, good that people are realising that now. The best book worms can sit and warm their chairs at home. The real deal is in doing the stuff.
The greatest engines in the world are built outside the books to a good extent, based on experience and tests. A few years later, those new methods will turn into books.
There is a lot in racing that you learn, which cant be explained to a layman and the learnings are kept secret. Even I will never discuss my stuff. All book is not the answer. Nobody will ever teach you tuning. Its not a crash course that you can attend and learn. All that you get to hear or read are guidelines only. Your books, internet and discussing with others is just a tiny fraction of the whole game.
Its surprising when I see that everybody around wants to become tuners when they dont even know what that word means or even have the slightest clue of what it takes.

From what i understand, tuning is what it really means to make the most out of a vehicle , in this case bikes The stuff you learned is through numerous failures, since no one can get it right at the very first attempt. Tuning is serious business so its obvious that you can't reveal what you have done.

Only thing appreciated would be test rides of the bikes that have your touch that alone would make people feel the difference between the stock and the bikes you have tuned. No need for specs n all. If one really is that curious they needa take the bike part and see for themselves.

Joel you're one of the few whose work is all go and some show gotta admire the effort, time, money, dedication you have for bikes (and later cars). Its always interesting to read your work and results. One of my favourite custom threads for stuff on bikes.

                            • Hey Joel,
Great stuff there. Keep up your good work.

My liking towards bikes started when CBZ was launched.
Though the liking was limited towards looks & I never went into technical at that point of time.
But I must say that I had liking towards mechanical stuff.

Unfortunately (thought so for some time), even after recommendations from career guidance firm to pursue career in mechanical, I went on to choose Computers.
Later I always regretted that I should have chosen mechanical over computers.

Now I have realized, past is past & nothing can hold back a true passion.
I currently own Hero Honda Karizma & I have always fantasized different modifications on it on my own.

Your words have induced positivity in me for pursuing my passion now.
I am just waiting for the warranty period to get over so that I can practice my fantasies one by one.
