      • i wonder why yamaha don't do these modifications if reliability factor is not hurt as stock. if with these modifications R15 is launched fastest indian title will be with R15+reliability+great stability/control+looks. i can't understand the yamaha R&D department if R15 is capable of that much power, so why under power it.

        • ^^ peoples at Yam have to manage stuff between everything ! From reliability to street usable performance to average !
P.S I'm not saying that Joel's parts are reliable or street friendly, his main aim is to make a PROPER tuned bike which can be used on a daily basis and is reliable

Hope ninja owners dont take on this bike on the road thinking its just another R15...

            • Insane!!

Joel sir, you are great.!! Thats one mean machine I've ever seen. Never knew a R15 was capable of something like this. Well I would like to ask some questions..

              1. What all mods have been put inside?
              2. Does it have the rev-limiter removed?
              3. Has these mods taken a toll on the other parts of the bike?
              4. 0-60 and 0-100 timings?
              5. And last but not the least how can it be complete without knowing the toll on fuel efficiency

                1. What all mods? well, its easier if you ask, whats stock inside the engine
well, fully blown cylinder head, custom race cam, ECU, 176cc, high compression, fully tuned exhaust, modified intake system, blah blah and blah...
                2. Rev-limiter removed? All I know is that it revs to 13000rpm.
                3. Yes, wears tyres and the whole bike has no clue how to handle the extra power.
                4. Well, 0-100kph in full launch is good for around 8 secs in full street trim with pump gas.
                5. Fuel efficiency. I get 34kmpl in city and 42kmpl on highways. And the engine makes almost double the power of a stock engine.

                    • ^well if you guys didnt get my pun intended in the posts, then its no point.
Guess you guys dont know too well of what I do and what I have developed.
I work as a Race Engineer and have been working specifically on the R15 for the last 2 years. I have built the fastest race bike in the country and we are faster than TVS Racing and Yamaha Racing and have set numerous national records this season on the R15. The race bike does a good 14000rpm with abuse for a grueling 6+6 lap race across 2 days excluding formation and warm-up laps. With the fastest lap record and the "never-heard" performance of any Indian race bike, I sure know how to build a fast bike.
How much all this cost? Well, this is just my street bike and I have been working on it for 2 years now. I am currently doing my development and developing new racing and street parts. Right now, I am busy with the ECU development. The valve train and internals are my custom parts and are strong enough for 14500rpm. The street engine is now set-up at 13100rpm. Makes strong power till 12500rpm.
0-100kph is around high 7s and early 8s depending on the condition. All this with zero weight reduction. You guys really need to understand what goes into a high performance motor before such comments.

                      • ^^^ o come on joel... i hope this response isn't directed at me.

i've gone thru this thread AND ur race prepped R15 thread...
in awe of what you've done so far.

my "13000rpm can be dangerous" comment included a ( )
which is the equivalent of a pun intended.

the "yowser" was in response to you saying
"the engine makes almost double the power of a stock engine"

my reaction was based on the thought that ran through my mind as i read your post...

                        what i was thinking was...
"a stock R15 is friggin' light... double the power??
                        heck! that would feel crazy...
i wonder how much fun that might feel like"

just clearing the air here. and keep up the good work bro.
                        .
