    Most of us here have the 2-stroke belief that a port-job on my engine has made most of the difference. It just one part of the equation
    Its high time since you mentioned this.

      The end can, does not need a mount as its strengthened to be rigid enough at the mid-joint on the frame. The canister only weighs about 600-700gms man

      @Karthik - Post the pics da. It will clear all the doubts.

        Oh thats good. Karthik did post the pics Joel, but I still had my doubts!! BTW I never expected the end-can to be just ~600 grams!

          good work buddy...guys got a chance to ride the souped up R15..to get to know the diff rode navnish's R15 and then immediately rode joel's R15....man wat a ride,its got punch everywhere not like stock R15 even at lower revs it pulls strongly..after 6k rpm its out of world..the best part was it hits the rev limiter in no time ,u have to be superquick in changing the gears so that it doesnt hit the cutoff...

          did a 142kph in a short stretch, but 110s and 120s comes like as if its a childs play..i was addicted to the exhaust note and the way the bike pulls...
          totally a drool maal..

            Ok chaps, let the pics do some talking..Lets see how many pages this thread consumes

            Sadly, the speedgun was'nt working accurately(I clocked 138kmph and your gun read 108kmph ). Had to rely on the GPS and it was a major let down. Had a blast time playing cat and mouse with the NICE road cops.. Now I have video proof to get Joel arrested for Road Rash. (phun intended)

            I didnt get to ride the "Pimped" R15 but I should say it is freaking faster than the other fuel injected Lunas.

            And Joel, you need to make a small cut to the fairing near the exhaust pipe..your fairings are melting man!!

                  Great Work joel bro. 20%'s Some real serious increase! I still remember people were expecting R15 to put out 20 bhp or so. Well, now it does although not everyone ...

                  Bro, I have 2 queries :-->

                  1. You said airbox is stock, Why not use the AFR Equipment you had some days ago, and get some K&N inside it...? A little bit noise won't bug much, will it?

                  2. Why don't you approach Yamaha to incorporate this in all R15's? You clearly mentioned the bike is street suitable ...

                    *Why not a K&N?
                    The R15 has an air intake temp sensor on the air intake manifold. When you junk the airbox, the fuelling goes for a toss and you need a standalone ECU or a good piggy back to readjust the extra fuelling. By using the FID, I cant change the fuelling for the entire rpm range. It will work rich at one point and lean at higher rpms. Its nothing to do with noise, coz I have the noisiest bikes in my stable

                    *Why not approach yamaha?
                    You think Yamaha has no brains? They for sure know what they are doing and what they are selling is for the masses. Whoever needs more, needs to find their own ways. Every maker in the world leaves room for improvement in an engine, except maybe an F1 engine.
                    A manufacturer always tries to strike the balance of reliability, economy, performance, NVH and rideability and thats what Yamaha did on the stock R15. If you want more, you need to work on it.
                    This set-up on my bike is as per my requirement, so its fine for me and my types. Its not the same case with a stock production bike.

                      Great work there Joel. Inspite of being in bangalore,only heard of you from different people including Navnish. Your work seems like a piece of art,looks like a neat job unlike the crude modifications that are done otherwise. I'm more interested in seeing your Fiero though. You should consider building the twin Enfield sometime.

                        Now I know where my Top End has gone

                        Time to Bug Yamaha ... or may be no... coz that loss in Top End is ok as compared to the slightly better mid range!

                            @Joel- Great Effort

                            That is not an air temperature sensor on the intake manifold. What you are referring to is the MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure). It is basically a piezo-resistive diaphragm which converts the change in air pressure into electric signals and sends it to the ECU.

                              Awesome work Joel!!

                              The free flow sounds awesome, the finish is superb. Quality work! Just awesome!!!

                              Waiting to see the bike in true form it should be awesome *running out of words already * Complete drool maal maga!

                              Knowing you, this still comes as a surprise sometimes (that this much can be done. As getting power out of a two stroker is so much easier as opposed to the same amount on a 4 stroke, which probably involves 4 times or more work in itself) and It inspires me to see you break through the set limitations of an engine, cure it of its incapacity and go beyond!

                              The icing on the cake here is the reliability and fuel-efficiency that the engine is producing in its current setup, which you have successfully achieved especially after the rigorous trials the bike underwent with many guys aboard it, belting it around the city after completion and still maintains it.

                              Great stuff there as always man! One talented individual u are! Keep up the superb work man!!

                              Looking forward to the dyno figures and more reports from your end!

                              What you once told me is right man, 'If u feel like you've hit the wall, then u have. Else there's a way through it or around it and so much more to go!'

                              So my question is.... What NEXT!?
