This would be interesting to see , is it possible to post dyno charts of a stock machine for comparison ?

Ofcourse, else no one will have a clue of what the improvement is. Hope the dyno is free this weekend for a run.
We always plot the stock and modified curve on the same graph. It will give a detailed insight of the overall range.

^Say 27-30k and still counting . I have picked a new cylinder head, cylinder and few other critical parts from yamaha. Got camshaft grinding done abroad.
I still havent included the cost of the FID.
More than the money, its the man-hours involved. Planning the work and getting the right results since this is a one-man show. Porting and cylinder head mods alone took 3 days into the night coz I work after I finish my office work..till about 3 am . We took 2 days(an entire weekend) to build the pipe. 2 days for me to finish the build and try various combinations. One day of testing and corrections. For ex, these high lift cams tend to have a varying tappet clearance across the profile. You need to strike the balance of the right amount of tightness and free play. And those who know an R15 know it takes atleast 2 hours to strip everything off and re-do the tappets alone, I've done this 3 times. Excess play will tamper performance, tight tappet will again kill performance. FYI, stripping down an engine and putting it back in a go itself consumes a good 5 hours. It sure took a lot of sweat, brains and money for this build, coz it was a first of its kind and I had to figure my own ways. Still have a lot of work to be done. This is still just a stage 1 build for me.

                        • A Torquey bull, that's what Joel's r15 has become. It rushes forward with so much of a twist of a wrist that once u get off the bike and ride a bone stock r15 you feel, as if your riding a 125-150cc commuter with a slightly peaky power curve.

Its pointless to talk about top speeds as it has been described before but its very important to speak about how fast it gets there. So this is just my experience that i'm writing about.

My ride was a short one, owing to the spending the lazy Sunday noon with Joel and Kushant i remembered to take the bike for a spin just as we departed in the evening.

Slotted it into the first gear and went out, the exhaust roaring.

Got a small patch of road and i was rolling in 2nd gear at about 20kmph, and twisted the wrist as much as it could go and then it was shift, shift, and cut throttle and shift up into 5th as the bike hit 110+ before decelerating as i watched the trip meter count .1, .2 and before the .3 i was already doing 100+ Insane.

The power is so linear, its not peaky, but its got so much of torque its crazy! Felt as if i was riding a bullet on a diet! haha.

Very usable power, no need for downshifts anymore. The bike was running rich when i rode it that evening in bangalore and yet it exceeded my expectations.

And the sad part was getting back on my own stock r15. Damm I felt sad, Joel's bike felt smoother and i could easily spot the difference in acceleration between the bikes.

The bike would pull even in 6th where the stock would fall apart, i can only imagine the kind of fun on the highways on this bike.

100kph-110kmph is a joke for Joel's bike. It gets there in no time.

What takes my bike ages to do relatively speaking, joel's bike performs the feat in no time. Streetable is the word here and it wins on all counts.

R15 is a good bike in stock form, but joel's bike is just awesome! I wish yammie came out with such a bike in stock form!

I personally like peaky set ups being a former 2 stroker as i find them too much fun, but this bike is all about usable power and in the city this bike wins hands down. Even the torquey zma is no match for the bike. At low revs it has a different character than a stock bike.

The exhaust is 10/10 quality job and sounds good! I had fun with the bike before handing over the keys to joel.

Didnt get to ride it on empty roads but in short city stretches i could easily get to 100+ speeds in about 150-200ms, maybe even less as i observed the distances and the amount of time taken to reach the speeds on my bike in the same areas. I could see my bike taking time to cross 80-90-100 and joel's bike was eating up most of the digits in between.

Ok i'll stop with the review here, before u guys think i'm over reacting. But the fact is his bike is to be experienced and not described. In any case this is one bike i would love to ride, day in and day out, engine setup was perfect. Although the bike was running much faster with the fueling tweaked on monday. I missed it due to our schedules.

@Joel: Maga, next time i'm in blore, i'm stealing your bike. You can keep my bike! i'd be more than happy to part with storm.

                          Kudos to our man here!

Last sunday when you rode the bike, the fuelling was on the richer side courtesy the sudden change in weather. I altered the AFR and the bike was back on its toes.

                            • damn this guy is good! Joel, what can you do for my ailing ZMA? :P
Anyways, keep going bro. Hope you open up an Indan version of the many UK based bike tuners. After all fossil fuelled bikes don't have much longer to live in our dying world.

Ah ha! Now thats ride report I was waiting to hear...!

I learnt my riding on a RX too, then had to move to a HH Passion, then the Lazy Avenger, and then finally the RTR! So I guess the urge for the 'need for acceleration' from the R15 is common to us!

PS: You call your bike Storm, and Joels upped R15 as a Bull.... phew not fair at all
