Something serious needs to be done !

I faced a similar situation couple of days back. It was the same location just before Yelahanka Junction, and a corrupted cop caught me for over speeding (was doing 75kmph ). Argued with him for not having any specific speed limit for 2/4 wheelers and everywhere its the same 80kmph written on those boards. He took my license and was reluctant in giving it back. Asked me to pay 300rs ( offered to give me a challan instead of printout - reason being printer not working...he was blabbering some crap). I was short of money as i had only 200rs with me..After arguing for about 20mins, he asked me to give 100rs for no challan being given and leave the place and if argued further he will impose heavy penalty for over speeding and seize the bike. I was in a hurry to the airport and asked him to give me the challan for 200rs for which the cop turned it down !

I wish something serious needs to be done with such corrupted cops. Despite following traffic rules we end up emptying our pockets.

Best to check with the RTO. Transport Department
yes there is a such rule bro. I have purchased my bike like that only. You have to present a letter from your office (if government employee) while purchasing the bike that your job is transferrable. You have to do the same while paying the tax also.

P.S:- I have already made a similar post but since it has got deleted due to the crash i am reposting it again

I agreed to pay that money to him as I was not the only guy caught there. There were many bikers around. Then I asked them the receipt for the same. He told that they are currently not having receipt book. He told me that if you want you can take it tomorrow or leave your license with me.Why cant these guys have a receipt book if they are imposing a fine on someone. That A**H**e took the money and the next day when I happen to past those guys for the receipt, he refused to recognize. He again told me that my number plate was not correct and it is in Digital font and you need to pay the fine for same. I was really pissed off. I paid them 30Rs and left. But I learnt a lesson. Whenever they show a hand to stop you and you are on a highway just pull your throttle and leave as fast as you can.
The wise thing to do is escape the situation with very minimal fine, u know the system is corrupt and yes u can try to change it ..and with a cost. talk to them nicely in a manner u can convince them, if they ask for 100/- check the situation and act accordingly,.. if they they are strict then u'll come to know immediately and surely they find something wrong in ur bike, some are casual .. just pay less to them and escape

    and +1 to highway thing

Be alert next time. You've only made things easier for that cop, & difficult for other guys who might have gone to him thereafter.

Keep a couple of numbers/ email ids of media handy. & bust these officers the next time they take you for a ride.

Ya will make note of that in case if i come across this kind of things again... thanks bro...
