Even i had a similar incident recently and luckinly nothing happened as i was coming slowly....a 40+ lady just crossed the road near a blind curve without looking anywhere..
    PS: no offence to any one here...there a few who drives well..that i know...but i am talking of the majority ..
    Similarly these auto drivers think that it is their roads and can do what ever they want to..even i had an accident coz of one, who just turned without any signal n i rammed onto him...since it was his his fault nobody put the blame on me n i also didnt have any injuries.
    Especially if any lady is involved in any accident, all the blame comes on the head of the male drivers involved in it. Nobody tends to hear or see what has happened and simply attack them..this is what i hate the most..
    humm.. Nearly everybody has t same experiences. I had crashed hard three time and twice it was due Autorickshaw, another time i was an elder who came in t wrong way... When ever i see ladies on a two wheeler or in a four wheeler, you have be alert.. Or else we have to pay for their stupid mistakes. we have to forgive most of the females and elderly riders who ride in t centre of t road at 30 km per hour.. Nothin can be done. I have also seen many people have a deaf years to horns.:-) i don come to tell that i always ride at 40km. I don't. But i have an open eyes. Stop looking at salwars and other bikes which look kool, you are 95% safe.. Another annoying thing which you can find in chennai is, in a signal when we are standing in t first,people just come before with their bike and block t exit.. Literally. it all happens. Rather than blaming, we can drive more safe and keep ourselves from dangers way

      I agree

      +1 here..

      This happens almost everyday to everyone.

      All we can do keep all our senses alert for unexpected events.

      Cheers and ride safe

        The most dangerous creatures on road are in that order -
        (i) A lady driver on a 4-wheeler;
        (ii) A Lady with another lady crossing the road;
        (iii) A Lady driver on a 2-wheeler;
        (iv) A lady pedestrian/road walker;
        (v) A lady with a child crossing the road;
        (vi) An elderly Lady standing on the footpath;
        (vii) Young children on their own crossing the road;
        (viii) A rash idiot (of any gender) on CD 100/ TVS Star City.
        (ix) A three-wheeler (driven by any gender).
        (x) A cyclist (of any gender).

        I don't bother about anything and everything else on the road .
        The above examples are from my personal experiences. The problem with ladies are that they don't have reflexes fast enough to save them in case they have witnessed a coming possible emergency.

          u wanna know why?? So this is what happened today-I am riding my bike at a speed of about 40-45kmph normal for our roads and mindin my own business.But suddenly an elder lady comes right in in front of me going wrong way on her kinetic

          I dont know what to do cause she is just like 3-4 mts away from me so i slam the brakes, loose control and WHAM i go and get crashed in the old lady.

          people come rushin pick us up and the vehicles and START BLAMING ME!!!

          they said i was RASH DRIVING. Now guys wat was i supposed to do,these people think i am young and have speedy lookin bike SO THEY COME TO THE CONCLUSION OF ME BEING DRIVING LIKE CRAZY and that there is no fault of the lady who by the way was not wearin a helmet or gloves. it was me who was wearin the helmet and the gloves and what did people say I AM SHOWING OFF by wearin fancy lookin helmet and riding a fancy bike

          i was like wtf is goin on here. I somehow managed not to loose control and apologised to the lady and came home entire way thinkin of whats up with people in India?
          Same incidence occured with me and my wife while driving on mumbai pune highway where there was no fault of mine where one lady driving a scorpio gng at a speed of 70 suddenly applied brakes and turned to the right and i was just a few feet away frm her i applied my brakes but bad luck i ended crashing down with a broken wrist, my wife also suffered injuries but thanks to my wife who slapped at the idiot lady driver and fired her like anything. though crowd was gathered but they also charged the scorpio lady as it was clearly her fault, it took 2 mths to recover from a broken wrist.

          i feel ladies should not be given licenses to drive on highways beyond a speed of 40

            A similar incident happened with a friend of mine. He was driving down a highway at around 80-85 Kmph on his P180 with a pillion. A lady driving a Santro in front of him suddenly decides to turn right and slams on her brakes . This poor guy has no other option but to brake as hard as possible. He slams his brakes, does a stoppie near the car, is flung off the bike and his head crashes into the car's gate pillar. Luckily he wears a good Studds helmet which broke open and saved his head. He had to be rushed to hospital as he fainted there. The pillion was lucky as he got catapulted over the car and landed with minor bruises.
            The fault....as usual was considered to be my friend's....."Yeh aajkal ke ladke bike pe udte firte hain."....... i mean c'mon dude!! what was he supposed to do?? he was well within speed limits!! But this is how WE INDIANS are!

              @everyone

              thanx for ur advices seems like everyone have had an incident like this in teir riding life

              hopefully i was not hurt nor was the old lady but my R15s fairing did cracked a little and the indicator too was broken

              it seems to be a confusion here, the thing is she was not drivin in front of me all the time!!, she just came out of nowhere RIDING TOWARD ME and not in front of me

              if she would have been ridin in front of me i would have been cautious but this was a different case

                @ srinathrao - i have seen similar incidents here in chennai well witho t main city roads.. A lady was driving an 800 and there was an activa rider who happens to be a lady riding behind t 800 around 10 metres distance.. The lady in the car happen to slam her brakes for no reason and lady in the activa didn't even notice it and just crashed in to the car.. This shows that the lady in the car was stupid enough to slam her brakes for no reason in the middle of the road and the lady in activa didn't have t enough reflex to stop t vehicle. The most interesting things is, both ladies didn't have license..

                  All I can say is
                  It is important that you ride safely at all times but more important, you should be able to cover up the mistakes done by others. That makes the difference between a true bike and other people.

                  You need to practice on your reflexes and bear in mind that anything can happen anytime.

                  Hope you are fine.

                    It is india 85% people in my city rides like an insane rider without proper riding gear..

                    i remember few days before i was riding at 35 -40km/hr..

                    one milkman was coming, he was looking back and was riding with to heavy milk filled utencils hung around his bike, he was'nt knoing anything how he was riding as he was looking back and suddenly he came to wrong side i.e. to my lane and he must be riding at 45-50 km/hr with no lid..
                    i was continuously blowing horn but he dint even noticed, i too was confused what shoud i do also that time it was not very possible to completely stop the bike, by the time his one milk ki tanki hit my R15's indicator and i slipped..
                    Nothing happed to me, thanks to helmet but my clutch lever broked and got some scratches on fairings..
                    now the main point comes, that milkman was shouting on me that i dont know how to ride WTF, that time i was so frustated that i gave one on his cheek, by the time my friends were crossing from there, they came and scolded that milkman.I would have noted his bike's no. but there was'nt any no. plate.
                    within mins he rushed....

                    MORAL- please be careful, nowdays anyone can collide with you even you are riding at correct lane with nominal speed

                      We cant do anything but be prepared, and well, accept a crash, if it comes our way, even when we are prepared.

                      For my part, I have numerous experiences with people, but most of them with pedestrians. They just dont care. Because you are on a machine that can stop and then move off without any effort from you, they expect you to stop.

                      I have had instances of ladies crossing the road at snail's pace even when they've seen me coming and I've honked the horn and flashed the twin headlights of my R15 for all they're worth.

                      All I do is speed up and narrowly miss them. 'Jaan ka dar', as people call it. That's what will set them right, because no matter how much you try to educate them, they will do the same thing at the next intersection. And I do make it a point to stop, gain attention and scold them even if they are elder than me.
                      You get the point?? :D

                        Please Dont blame me for this!

                          i had no choice.Anyone from chennai would know the RTO opposite to the military base their i saw a soldier standing in the hall with his young daughter for over 2 hours cause he refused to pay the bribe.If this is what happens to a soldier in our country who would give up his life to defend us all(Including the RTO crooks) I think you can forgive these idiots.

                              I too do the same..But only if they happen to see me well before they step in to the road.. Not only that... you can see lots of people crossing the road as if they own in..That too chick talk over the phone when they cross the road... it take a lot to control my temper under such circumstances.
