(make sure the lie doesn change) and thats all. agent comes and says to which all part warranty can be issued after close inspections (break anything u want new )after he issues buy those parts only(dnt buy what he hasn issued cos he wont pay u for it) and call him up, he'll come n take a look at old broken parts which were replaced and ask u to collect a cheque from office after showing some id. all done.
Very true, this guy had an estimate of 40k for the repair of his ZMA after his crash

Thanx for the prompt reply. I'd my bike insured at National Insurance. Will be calling them in a while.

            @ all
in your opinion which company provides the best terms for cover and also has a speedy and efficient staff?

i own a grey RTR Fi (im from navi mumbai). The showroom guys here seem to have a tie up with Bajaj Allianz. I have claimed the insurance a couple of times and both the times the service was way too slow and seemingly indifferent. Is it always like this? Anyways, im desperately looking for a better company. But im confused as to which one to go for?

Its always a slow process dude, u cannot rush it. And showroom ppl are least bothered so they dont give proper estimations which makes a bigger hole in our pockets. whatever happens , i guess min one month will b required.ICICI is the fastest as far as i know, after they agree to insure broken parts{claimed via local garage} u will have to spend ur money and replace those parts, as soon as done insurance guy comes and checks. then within a week u will get the cheque. so here it depends on ur Bank balance more the money u have , faster ur ride will b ready. Conditions as of Mysore. no idea how the service is in other places..

Bajaj Allianz is not up to the mark is what i feel, i claimed Total loss for my unicorn which was badly damaged, it took them 3 months to pay me!

yea same procedure here too. you pay the bills and the mechanic guys go out of the picture ...then you wait for the cheque to arrive at the insurance office...i had crashed my bike >2 months ago...they took an entire month to repair it. and after that it has been more than two weeks im still waiting for the cheque to arrive. everytime i call the surveyor, he says it will take more time...just tired of waiting.
I have heard that there are some companies who directly settle the claim amount with the mechanics and we just have to pay the remainder. That sounds like a nice way for settling the bills Atleast the customer who isnt part of any company will be spared of the torture...the companies are there for business, they can sort out their work anytime, cant they?

I have ICICI, and when i claimed insurance, they were fast and easy. and all i had to do was go to showroom and say "i need to claim insurance, i got in accident" and my bike was in my hand in 4 days repaired... but only thing was that in the showroom, it showed they had the bike but i had it, because of the rear panel of karizma R was not installed yet. Now everything is done and the insurance paid 100% FIBER PARTS to me and my total cost came out to be 10,000 RS. and i paid 100 RS total. It all depends on insurance companies. In all, it took about 15 days total, and i had the bike in 4 days in my hand, rest of time i waited for the rear left side panel.....

                    100% FIBER PARTS!?
wtf!? this cant be true...i have NEVER heard of ANY company who gives more than 60% cover for fibre parts

i guess the showroom guys must have some 'setting' with the surveyor...they submit an inflated bill to the surveyor.then bribe the surveyor to make sure he doesnt say anything.then when the actual claim cheque arrives, it has the said percentage which works out to be the actual bill

for eg, if the repairing cost is Rs 10k and the rough claim percentage in the company's terms is 70%, they mention the amount to be 14k. thus when the company issues the cheque of 70% of 14k, it works out to 9.8k...thus the customer gets ~100% claim

but all this jhol happens in local shady companies.dint know that such things work in class companies like icici too

Either way, Who cares, i got my bike repaired for 100 RS. Which had a cost of 10,000 RS. So either way, im on the positive side. But the guy at the showroom said its all in my paperwork. So... and someone said at the ZMR Ownership Experience thread that After June or July 2010, ICICI was giving 100% for fiber parts....

The National insurance guys said that I'll be getting 80% for metal parts n 50% for fibre parts... The showroom guys have given an estimate of 30k but as per my calculations it won't exceed 20k.
One more thing labour charges are not covered, right???
