    Hi guys ... need some suggestion here,

    recently my bike (Yamaha Fazer) fell in a pothole and have suffered quite a damage. the thing is I bought this bike from some one, who has an insure under his name. Now the guy has left for US. I've the copy of insurance with me though.

    can I claim the insurance on this one ? If yes, how should I go about it ?

      I guess so, as far as i know when u buy a used bike u r supposed to get the 29-30 form signed by the seller containing transfer of insurance and vehicle to your name.

        have u transferred the bike in ur name??? ie if the first owner name is still there on the RC then there wont be any problems... but if ur name has come on the RC and the insurance still has the first owners name then the insuring company wont be giving u a claim, since the bike has a new owner and the same has not been transferred....

        I guess so, as far as i know when u buy a used bike u r supposed to get the 29-30 form signed by the seller containing transfer of insurance and vehicle to your name.
        Form 29 n 30 is used in RTO to transfer a vehicle in the new owners name, then only will ur RC copy show ur name on it... it has nothing to do with insurance company....

          Boss, need some help
          As u all may know, 200NS has been launched in Kolkata. Now I want to do my Insurance from outside, and not from the dealer.
          The Ex-Showroom price is 88,523/-
          I enquired from Reliance Gen Insurance, and they are quoting the following:
          a) IDV - 77240/- Premium - 1778/-
          b) IDV - 64367/- Premium - 1557/-
          c) IDV - 57930/- Premium - 1447/-

          Now, I need to know, If I go on with the least premium option, Will I be harassed by the Traffic Cops, since the IDV is Not at par with the Ex-showroom price.

          Secondly, will it further Depricate the value of my Bike, when I go to Renew the policy in the next year? Even if i change the Insurance Company

          PS - The dealer is quoting me 2071/- bucks for the insurance.

            Hell no!!! How does the cop even know the value of exshowroom price of the vehicle? Secondly, its your choice to determine the IDV value; if you can bear the expenses, you can even opt for third party insurance (not sure if insurance companies let you do that for very first time)

            As per my car's insurance policy (Bajaj Allianz), yes, I can quote even a higher IDV value & I HAVE DONE it. For bikes, I'm not really sure if it can be done. Members who have done it can confirm

              FZ16 - Bike accident - Insurance - Replaced parts?

              Hi All,

              An accident bike under insurance coverage is been restored. Its been done by the Yamaha service company. Will they give the spare parts that they have changed?

              Like for instance, frame and silencer got changed so will they give the old frame and the old silencer? Will they give it? They should right?

                Advice is a form of nostalgia.

                  You wont get the damaged parts. the damaged parts are property of the 'insurer/asc' and are not given to the customer.
                  Maybe u can 'bend' the rules

                      Technically you won't be getting anything back if it's a cashless claim if done in the ASS itself, the decision to give the old parts back or not is with the parts manager & the insurance agent. Hope that clears the cloud..

                          Got my bike back after 2 months.. They agreed to give me the old parts.. My bill is 32,000 though.. My bad..

                                Thanks for asking mate I'm all fine.. My bike took the hit that was suppose to be for me.. Sweety..

                                I was overtaking a Chennai Metor rail project's lorry on the right and he took a long U turn without no indicators or hand signal.. I banged exactly between the front and the back type, my both hands on the lorry, pushed myself outwards.. Poor sweety went inwards though, got hurt by the back wheels.. Frame got misshaped..
